'To all whom z't may concern:

Be it known that I, HANS HARTMAN, a citizen of Austria-Hungary, residing at 253 West 42nd street, New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Safety-Razors, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvementsin safety razorsand particularly to means for adjusting the blade in proper alinement with the edgeof the guard.v

The object of my invention is to provide a safety razor in which the blade may be adjusted closer to the edge of the razor guard so as to compensate for the loss in width caused by the repeated resharpening of the blade.

Furthermore, the object of my invention is to provide a blade having a central oval aperture into which an eccentricallyl formed lug is secured, and which may be rotated around the axis of the handle/tovv adjust the blade to conform to the edge-pf the razor` guard. v

Finally, the object of the invention is to produce a safety razor whichlwll',possess advantages in points of sinipli'city', durability and eiiciency,"proving at the 'same time comparatively inexpensive to produce and sustain.

With the foregoing and other objects in View, the invention consists in the details of construction, and in the arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed.

In describing the invention in detail reference will be had to the .accompanying drawing, forming a part of the specification, wherein like characters denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in which:

It is to -be noted that the lug, 16, extends through the oval aperture, 5, in the blade, 4, and by rotating the same the edge of the blade will be moved toward the edge of the guard as desired, when the handle piece is threaded. upon the bolt, and the hollow piece, 13,

seating against the platen, 10, will prevent any movement of the blade while in use. The rotation of the-lug, 16, toward either edge of the back piece willadjust the edge of the blade in confonnity' thereto.

It is believed that the'constructionjand operation of my improved safety razor can be fully understood from the foregoing description, it being noted that changes may be made in theportio'nsand details of construction wit of my invention.
