Description

Application ated .tune 5, w1?. g Serial No. wml/23.-
To all lwhom t; may concern.:
Be it known that l, JAMES E. HANGER, dr., a citizen of' theUnited States, residing at `Washington, in the District of olumbia, have invented certain new and useful linprovements in arinent-Supporters, of which .the wearer may assume. A further object thereof is to produce a hose supporter attached at one end to the front o1"- a corset and at the opposite end-to the back thereof, hayu ing an intermediate sliding connection with a clip attached to the top of the hose whereby the supporter adjusts its position and relation to the hose attachment in the various postures ot the body of the wearer. eine other object of my invention is to produce a hose supporter comprising a leXible sus pender, a portion of which is longitudinally adjustable and made of elastic material, one end of which is attached to 'the bach of a corset and the opposite end being removably' attachable to the front thereof, lthus :torming a loop having a swinging and sliding conn nection with the top of the hose to retain a tension thereon at all times;and a still tur? .ther object of my invention is to produce a more siuiole, cheap, and etiicient device of the chagracter described than has heretotore been attained.
n the accompanying drawings, in which like reference characters indicate similar parts,
Figure l is a side View ot-my device in use Fig. 2 is a- :tront View thereof; and
Fig. 8 is a detailed perspective of my invention detached.
y Referring now to the drawings, i indicates a suspender comprising an adjustable elastic portion 2 attached to the back of a corset at 3. Said elastic portion .is looped through the slotted plate e and secured in adjusted position by the buckle 5.
On the lower edge of the plate 4- is carried the swivel 6 to which one end ot the nonclastic portion .7 ct suspender is tached, while the opposite end is buttoned or otherwise removably attached to the iront part ot the corset at S.
illhc non-elastic portion l is looped. through the swivel 9 upon which the dcpend'ing clip l0 is carried to be attached to the top ot the hose.
As shown in the drawings, one of such supporters is attached to lboth sides of a corset and two ot the same are attached to be carried between the .legs ot the wearer to support the hose on both sides, if desired. The pair of supporters1 attached to one ot the hose n'iay be held, comfortably about the limb by the band 1l attached it willxbe appreciated from the foregoing description and byv reference to the accompanying drawings, that the supporter thus described will maintain a constant tension on the hose in whatever position or posture the wearer-assumes and will comfortably adjust its position by the sliding and swiveled relation between the parts thereof..
l claim:
l. A hose supporter, comprising a pair of looped Suspenders attached at one end to the back ot a body garment and removably attached at the opposite end to the' front thereof, each ot' which includes an adjustable elastic portion at one end and a non-elastic portion at the opposite end, a depending swivele'd clip slidably carried on the nonelastic portion for attachment to the hose of the wearer, one of said Suspenders being carried between the legs of the wearer and the other on the `side to maintain a constant and even tension on bothsides of the hose, substantially as described.
2. A. hose supporter comprising a pair of looped Suspenders each of which is7 attached to the back of a body garment and removably attached at the opposite end to the front thereof, one of said suspenrfE-rs' being carried between the legs of the wearer and the other on the side, a clip slidably carried on each suspender for attachment to the hose and a band attached to both clips and surrounding the leg of the wearer, substantially as described.
ln testimony whereof atliX my signature .lin the presence of two witnesses.
