ith this construction it is obvious that the shade 28 may-be raised or lowered without effecting the position of the socket-13 or the globe 25; the socket may be adjusted independently by sim ly vurying-thevposition of the socketin t e arms 12; the `position of the socket ma also be varied by :substituting longer or s orter arms; and the shade or g be' 25 may be raised or lowered by inserting; or removing. split rings. Thus a sin le fixture may be used to ,accommo-- date large or small lamps and the several parte' are relatively adjustable so that the maximum eiliciency will be obtained from4 the lamp by reason of the f'osition of the ltlilm with respectl to the globe and to ithe s a e.

20. Ei an electric fixture, the combination with a support,l of a shade with a perfora vtion through which the sup ort passes freely, a member free from actua connection with the support or the shade adapted to be inserted through the erforation of the shade by a movement re ative thereto and-- adapted to engage both the edge of the perforation and' the support to uphold the shade, and clamping means attachable to the sup ort extending overl the shade for binding vthe shade in position.

2 In an electric fixture, the combination with ja support having a .threaded nipple, means in connection with the support for holding a lamp therein, a shade having a erforation through which the support reely passes, almember adapted to be inserted through the perforation of the shade and to be dlsposed between the shade and -I the support enga ng the outer edges of the support and the lglnner edges of the erforaltion for upholding the shade, and c amping means attachable to the ni ple of the support for binding the sha e and the sald member in place on the support.

22. In an electric fixture, the combination with a shade having a perforation, and a support therefor comprising means larger in extentbut insertible through the perfor-ation for engaging the inside edge of theV perforation of the shade, and clam ing means for engaging the outside edge o the perforation binding the shade against the su port and covering the perforation.
