The flexible supporting member F, pref- Y brably a string, passes through the bases A fand B and through the center of the ate tached tabs D so that said string is thus disonly the shape of the sheets but their entire Afaces are visible when the garland is extended'and hung for display. Therefore, the .sheets may not only be of any desired shape and color appropriate to a particular festival day but may be printed or otherwise -decorated upon their faces with attractive and appro riate designs. enhancing the --beauty of t egarland and its adaptability for use upon the particular occasion.
'It further to be observed that the shapes ordeslgns employed are not necessarily lnnited to a Single sheet C or to decoration upon a single sheet. For example, in Fig. 5 the adjacent sheets'C are cut to form a butterfly and the'design is symmetrically disposed lon two adjacent sheets.
vto
'. The method of manufacture' is to super- '.pose the sheets C between. their bases A and 35 B with the adhesive applied at the'proper places, and. then by a die or other suitable mechanism to cut the entire garland in the desired shape at a single operation. it will therefore be clear that the sheets C need not necessarily be all of the same shape as shown in the drawings; but by provision of a suitable die all the sheets upon one side of the line m-w, Fig. '4, may be of one shape and those upon the other side of an entirely dii ferent shape. Thus when a particular day has more 'than one characteristic emblem, such as the figures of jack-@lanterns and Witches for Hallovveven, both may be incorporated' in 'he same garland., which "will have an entir y different appearancevvhen viewed from opposite sides.
