Be itknown that I,`JULIUS C. DICKEY, of

. fSaratoga Springs, inthe county of Sara Y j toga, and State ot' New York, have invented a 1certain new Improved Mode of `Constructing Pad-Treesyforl-Iarness;,and I doj "herebydeclare thatthe `following is a full u and exact description thereof, reference being had to the `accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specication.

The nature of rnyinvention consists in an elongation of the nut which is secured in the adjustable jockey plate by which elongation the turrets may besecured to the yoke in any desirable position,`jand also secure the adjustablejockey plates `to the yoke, in combinationwith the said nut and awprojection which is cast ontheunder side of the yoke "which is inserted in a hole in the said nut.

2, and Fig. 3, I elongate, by which elongation, the turrets B B, may be secured to the yoke A, in any, desirable position, and also secure the adjustable jockey plates D D, to the yoke A, in combination with the plate or nutvC C C, and the projection cast on the underside of the yoke A, which is inserted in a hole in plate or nut C, C, C.

I claimi The shank piece or prolongation of the nut C, for the purpose Vof enabling me to `place the turrets higher up on the yoke, where they properly belong, and to prevent the reins, passing through them, from being too much spread at that'point', as they would be if the turrets were placed` at the joint which is `limited in its position, substantially as setforth.
