Beit known that I, HENRY MVFULLER, a citizen of `the United States,` `residing at SaltLake City, in the county of Salt Lake and' State of Utah, have invented `certain new and useful'lmprovements in Air-Regu latingValves, of which the `following is a specification." To develop power with internal combustion engines, acarbureter is used to volatilize and mix explosive fluids with air, to
provide the required explosive gas, and as at different altitudes, `and under different conditions of the atmosphere adjustments must4 be madeV inthe carbureter to provide this proper mixture, and the engine must be stopped to make said adjustments. The present invention enables me to supply more air to the carbureter mixture after the carbureter has acted, and thus provide the required and proper mixture without stopping the engine. A further object is to provide a device which will prevent the drawing into the cylinders of minute particles of liquid fuel by supplying an adjustable valve whereby air may be supplied to volatilize these minute particles of liquid fuel and mix with the gas from said minute particles between the carbureters and cylinders, so that when introduced into the cylinders with the mixture made in the carbureter the whole of the introduced mixture .will be properl and instead of their loss power will be obtained from these minute particles.
These objects I accomplish with the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which similar letters and numerals of reference indicate like parts throughout the several gures and as described in the specification forming a part of this application and pointed out in the appended claims.

Thepresent invention is shown on a `four cylinder engine A, but as will be obvious it may be used on ,engines having a greater or a lesser number of cylinders and consists of" the `construction and arrangement of parts as hereafter described. The valve is threaded at one end and is secured in place by screwing it into the end ofsaid elbow 4:, and concentric with said easing. The wall `of said valve is longitudinally slotted from one end, to near the threads on its other end, to provide air ports, a.` 6, c, and d as clearly shown in Fig. 7. To increase the size of ports for purposes hereafter explained, holes or enlargements, a', b, c and d are bored cutting the walls of said ports. A plunger 6 is operated within said valve by means of the rod 7 which is passed through the axial opening in the closed end of said casing 1. A sleeve 8 is carried on said rod 7 and operated concentrically within said casing 1 and over said valve 5. A jam nut 9 is screwed on said rod 7 to hold the end closure of said sleeve against the closed end of said plunger 6. The lower ends of said plunger 6 and of said sleeve 8 are on the same plane and as one closes the ports on the inside and the other on the outside they coact to regulate the flow of air through the ports. The carbureter is shown at C and the device is fastened to the dashboard D of the vehicle by passing said rod 7 through said dashboard.
The operation of my valve is as follows With the air and liquid fuel mixed in the carbureters now in use, and desiring to secure greater power from the engine for climbing hills the additional air required may be supplied by drawing the rod 7 longitudinally toward the said dashboard D to open the ports a', c, and d by moving the plunger 6 and sleeve 8 from over said ports.
