.Be it known that I, CAssrUs M. WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pueblo, Colorado, have invent-ed certain new and useful Improvements in Supporting- Frames for Electric Switches, of which the following is a specification. v
My invention -relates to a supporting frame for electro-mechanical switches and is adapted to contain and retain the several parts thereof in position to be included within a containing'box; and the objects of my invention are to provide a ymeans for assembling the underground parts of an electromechanical switch and to permit the whole of the mechanism to be assembled and sustained by the frame work to be placed within an underground boX.
I attain these objects by the mechanisms illustrated in the accompanyingdrawings,

This device is applicable to those electromechanical switching devices that are. inclosed within a boX sunk beneath the ground and it is desired to furnish the means of placing and replacing such switching devices without being compelled to remove the whole box, as well as to permit the assembling of the connecting parts; and the ready means of removing the same for repair.
Similar numerals refer to similar parts throughout the several drawings.
Preferably the device is constructed in two parts although it may be constructed of one part without departing from the principle of my invention. The solenoidal frame 2 is composed of the skeleton frame work at ends and vSides with angle construction and the part 4 being the end adjoining the other portion mayl be provided with a solid end,
or va suflicient portion of it solid to form attachment with the adjoining sections.
' However, the two parts may be cast in one part and simply a web at the end 4 would provide the means of the various attachments desired. The part 3 adapted to contain the mechanical portion of the device is composed of exterior frame uprights with the sustaining piece 18 cast integral with the sides, one end of which is adapted to it over the plunger 14, and in this part is a circular space 8 adapted to receive the operating shaft. Above this and integral with the sides of the part 3 is the well sustaining bracket (i with the circular space 7 therein adapted to receive the operating shaft 17.
Attached to the core of the solenoid 11 atl each end is the insulating material 12 adapted to fit within the interior of the angle end and side pieces of solenoid frame 2,' so as to leave the solenoid free from engagement with any of the parts. The two parts 2 and 3 are united by bolt means 6a through the ends 4 and 5. Below the plunger 14 is a sustainingv guide piece 9 which guides the plunger. Attached to the end 5 under the mechanical part is a controlling cam piece 16, V shaped, which sustains and assists to sustain the mechanism and the throwing arm l5. The frame ortion 3 is constructed so as to be approximately one half the depth of the frame piece 4 and level with the top of frame 2. The electric connections are made through the lead wires by attachment to the binding posts 13.
1t will thus be seen that this device arranges for the holding and binding of all of the parts of an electromechanical switch within a frame work, and the frame work is of such size and construction that it may be dropped into the containing box 1.

In a supporting frame for electromechanand adapted to receive and hold insulating sections attached to a solenoid, a frame comprising a guide for the plunger of a solenoid, a supporting bracket adapted to accommodate the operation of a shaft therein, and a superimposed bracket adapted to form the mounting for an operating shaft, the
