- lMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL CCM POUNDS FOR SKIN DISEASES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 124,660, dated March 19, 1872.
Specification describing a certain Compound called Victors Restorative and Preservative for the Toilet, invented by FREDRIOK WVIL- HELM ALEXIS BERGENGR'EN, of Stockholm, in the Kingdom of Sweden.
Take of bruised cloves, (Flores cm'yophyllusg three drachms; Origammn majomnmmtwelve grains; red rose, (Flores rosce rubrca) sixteen grains; bruised cardamom seed, (Semina cm"- dqmz0mi,) sixteen grains boiling distilled water, eight fluid ounces. Macerate the whole in a covered vessel for two hours and then strain it. Take then one hundred and eighty grains of boracic acid, (E0 and dissolve it in eight fiuid ounces of boiling distilled water, and add fifteen grains of chlorate of potassa, (KO,UIO and twelve grains of citric acid, (G ,H ,O +4HO.) When this solution isperfectly dissolved mix it with the first-named infusion, and filter it in the ordinary way when the compound is ready for use.
This compound is to be used as an external Wash on the skin and scalp, for the prevention and destruction of sundry skin diseases such as ringworms, eruptions, 850.; and has been used by me inmy medical practice for these purposes with very successful results. The compound, as shown, does not contain any ingredients that are in anyway injurious to the skin, and is as effectual in itsoperation as it is harmless in its action.
I do not, however, confine myself to the exact proportions of each of the ingredients hereinabove named, as I may choose to change their relative proportions slightly, according to circumstances.
Having thus fully described the mode of making and using my compound, I wish to secure by Letters Patent, and claim-- The medical compound, composed of the ingredients, and made in a manner and for the purpose as herein set forth and described.
