Thus when the push button or switch 38 is closed passes through the magnet coil 10, and the plug 13 being magnetized'thereby attracts the armature 15.-
per late 18 from the plates 24 and 25 an thereliy interrupts the current through the magnetwinding. This movement of the armature swings the pivoted lever 31 from the position shown in full lines in F'g. l to the position shown lines, and thereby'brings the clapper 33 into contact with the gong. The spring 32, then under stress, returns the parts to their normal positions, wherein the copper plate 15 again closes the circuit through the magnet winding. The vibrating action set up in this manner continues until the push button or switch 38 is opened.
An essential feature of this invention resides in the arrangement by which the armature is located over the pole of the electroniugnet. If desired, the armature may be arranged in the same manner in the interior- 01' a ma netio rlng.
The p rase vibratory belly; used hereinbefore and in the appendod claims 1s intended to include also vibratory buzzers, in;
terrupters, and the like.
Having thus described my invention, what a claim is:' Y 1. In a. vibratory bell, an electromagnet, a reciprocative armature magnetically responsive thereto, a rockingmernber opera-tively connected to the reciprccativc armature so that as the armature reciprocate-s the rocking ni'ember oscillates,"a resilient arm secured intermediate its .ends to the rocking member wherebylengths of the arm on opposite sides of the rocking member are alternately flexed during operation of the bell, and ,circuit connections including the winding of the electromagnet and interrupt 1g means carried by the reeiprocative armatare; substantially as described.
2. In a vibratory bell, an electromagnet, a
of the gong,
circuit connections including the winding.
of the electromagnet and interrupting means carried by the reciprocative armature; substantially as dscri ed. v
3; In a vibratory bell, the. combination with the hollow belLshaped gong, of an electromagnet housed within the gong, a reciprocative armature magnetically respon- 'sive thereto, a long leaf spring for carrying the clapper arranged substantially parallel with the rim of the gong and bent so as to conform approximately to the adjacent periphery of the gong, a bell crank levei'.actuated by the armature and having an arm angula-rly connected to the leaf spring and which is very shoit as compared to the leaf spring, and circuit connections including the winding ofithe electromagnet and interrupting means carried by the reciprocative armature substantially as described.
4 In a vibratory bell, the combination withthc hollow-bell-shaperl gong of a rigid yoke housed under the ong an arranged with its base parallel to tie plane of the rim an electromanet with its a'ia'is parallel to said 'planc, tieclectromagliet having a hollow core and being einbraccdby the yoke, vibratory arm pivoted to the olre, a reciprocative armature within the iollow core of the electromagnet for operating the vibratory arm and circuit connections including the winding of the electroinagnet and interrupting means carried by ANTONIO BAGUTTI.
