Be it known that I, ERNEST Tnvnvmnnorr, u citizen of the United States, residing at Elkhart, in thecounty of Elkhart and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Radiator-Caps, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in radiators for cooling internal combustion engines, and has for its object the provision of a radiator cap which may bo readily and quickly attached and detached, and which is provided with an opening for the' radiator which will permit of the rapid filling thereof.
Other objects of the invention are to provide a. radiator cap which may be so quickly handled in tlre application or removal thereof, that practically no difficulty is had in handling the sume when highly heated, the facility -with which same muy be handled thus tending to promote :i more frequent '1nspection or' the water supply, which is more or less neglected under circumstances malring the inspection more difficult. more, as the radiators are usually filled with water carried in a container, such as a bucket or can, I so form the radiator opening that the contents of the container may be more quickly em tied than is possible with the conventiona round opening.
