ARTIGIQE-HOLDER LIQUID-COATING MACHINES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 21, 1917.
i 7 Application filed March 19, 1915. Serial No. 15,481.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, REME A. BEAUSEJOUR,
a citizen of the United States, and resident of the borough of Richmond, in the city and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Article-Holders for Liquid-Coating Machines, of which the following is a specification.
This inventlonrelates to lmprovements in article holdersfor use in connection with liquid coating machines and has for its object to provide certain improvements in the construction, form and arrangementof the holder whereby the articles may be suspended inany desired angular position to produce the best results when the articles are being treated with the coating liquid.
A practical embodiment of my invention is represented in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 represents a'carrier, a portion of a horizontal arm upon which the carrier travels, and a holder in side elevation, a number of doors, broken away at the bottom, being shown supported in position in the holder,
. Fig. 2 represents a front view of the same, and
Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section taken in the plane of the line AA of Fig. 1.
The holder comprises a bar 1 to which is rigidly secured at right angles thereto, a series of bars 2 bymeans of angle irons 3,
located in the corner at thecrossing of the bars andrivetedto the bars. The holder is pivotally secured to a carrier 4 by means of a bolt 5 vertically mounted between the bar land a yoke 6 secured to the bar. The bolt extends upwardly. through the carrier and is held in position by a nut 7. The holder is free to be rotated upon the bolt 5 suspended from the carrier, while the carrier 4 is fitted to travel along the horizontal arm 8. The detail of this carrier and the horizontal arm, form no part of thls 1nvention and will not be more particularly described.
The bars 2 are provided with horizontal series of holes 20 for receiving the removable cross bars 9, which are adapted to receive the upper ends 10 of the extensible hooks adapted pend each door in position in the holder.
The hooks in each pair are of different lengths, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the purpose of which being to hold the door in an angular position. The upper end 10 of each hook is screw threaded, as shown at 15, and
the lower end 12 is screw threaded as shown at 16. The threaded ends 15 and 16 have a right and left screw threaded engagement with a nut 17, the turning of which upon the ends will give a slight vertical adjustment to the tilt of the door or article to be coated.
To provide for suspending doors or articles of various widths, the cross bars 9 may be placed in any of the holes 20 in the bars 2 to suit the required width.
It is obvious that slight changes may be resorted to in the form, construction and arrangement of the several parts Without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention; hence I do not wish to limit my- Isplf-strictly to the structure herein set forth,
What I claim is:
1. An article holderfor liquid coating machines comprising a frame, bars mounted therein, and means for suspending articles in the desired angular position from said bars, said means comprising a pair of hooks aditpted to engage opposite sides of the art1c e.
2. An article holder for liquid coating machines comprising a rotatable frame, bars mounted therein, and means for suspending articles in the desired angular position from said bars, said means comprising a pair of to engage opposite sides of the article.
3. An article holder for liquid coating machines comprising a rotatable frame, bars mounted therein, and means for suspending articles in the desired angular position from said bars, said means comprising a pair of extensible hooks adapted to engage opposite as my invention, -Ig-have signed my name 1n articles in the desired angular position from 'Iarch, 1915. said bars, 'said' mjeans'ac mprising a pair 6f extensible hooks of different lengthsadaptefl to engage opposite sides of the article.
In t t mony, t a Ir Cla m the f eg ing mounted therein, and means for suspending Rresence of two Witnesses, this 12th day of a 'REME QBEAI SEJOUR.
