BRACELET.
APPLICATION HLED MAY 2, I91?- g3- go4 Patented July 24, 1917.
ATTORNEY JOHN CORNELIUS OBRIEN,0F ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, ASSIGNOR TO EISENSTAIDT MANU- IAGTURING COMPANY, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, A CORPORATION OF MISSOURI.
BRACELET.
nests i Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July Qt, III,
To all whom it may concern: 7
Be it known that I, JOHN Gonnnnros OBRIEN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri, United States of America, have invented a certain new and useful Bracelet, of which the following is such a full, clear, and exact description as will enable any one skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
My invention relates to a bracelet of distinctive construction in that certain ornamental features thereof are so arranged as to also serve a useful purpose, the principal object of my invention being the production of a device serving not only as an article of adornment, but capable of use for reckoning and particularly for numbering prayers or devotions in a manner similar to that in which these are sometimes reckoned by strings of beads, commonly called rosaries.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a developed view of a bracelet embodying my invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective view; and Fig. 3 is a side view.
The bracelet comprises a suitable band or body 1, having projections 2 upon its surface, and preferably integral with the hand. These projections are arranged in two parallel rows, as shown, and form the ornamentation or part of the ornamentation of the bracelet. A portion at least of the projections are also preferably arranged in groups of ten, separated by single projections. The projections in each group are preferably equally spaced, and the ace between the intervening single projectlons and groups adjacent thereto is greater than the spaces between the several projections of the groups In addition to the projections previously mentioned, an additional row of projections is provided, comprising a single group of three and a single projection at each end of said group and spaced therefrom. In the use of the bracelet as a means of reckoning a finger is passed over the projections in succession in the row on one side of the bracelet, and then in like manner over the projections on the other side.
The bracelet is preferably formed of awhich is the provision of projections fash ioned and grouped, not only to serve as suitable ornamentation, but also for reckoning purposes as heretofore described.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secureby Letters Patent of the United States is-- 1. A bracelet comprisin a band or body provided with ornamenta spaced projections integral with the body and arranged on its periphery in groups of ten with single projections in the spaces between the cups.
2. A bracelet having spaced pro ections on its periphery arranged in separate groups of ten with single projections in the spaces between the groups.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal.
