UNITED STATES PATENT QFEIGE ERNEST BACHER, OF FINDLEY, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO HIMSELF AND ALBERT PARKER, OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN ICE-CUTTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,076, dated January 30, 1872.
To all uhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ERNEST BACHER, of Findley,in the county of Hancock and State of Ohio, have in vented a new and useful Improvement in Tools for Splitting Blocks of Ice into small pieces for retail trade; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing making a part of this specitication, in Which the ligure is a view in perspective.
This invention relates to a certain improvement in implements for splitting ice; and consists of a hatrhet provided with a dente-ted blade, which occupies the place ot' the usual poll or back ot' the hatchet; the object ot' the invention being to produce an implement which is designed to take the place ofthe saw and picks commonly used for splitting blocks of ice into small pieces for the retail trade.
In the drawing,A is the blade ofthe hatchet; B, the dentated blade, which occupies the place of the poll ofthe ordinary hatchet;` and C is the handle of the implement. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and useful, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the hatchet-bladeAWith the dentated blade B, substantially as and for the purpose hereinbefore set torth.
