HELEN L. MAOKER, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
IMPROVEMENT IN ALLOYS TO IMITATE SILVER, 800.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 122,901, dated January 23, 1872.
Specification describing a certain compound invented by HELEN L. MACKER, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, to be used instead of silver in many instances.
Thenature of the invention is fully described below.
The composition produced by theingredients given below resembles silver very much, and although it is not intended to counterfeit silver, yet it is hoped that this composition Will take its place to a large extent. It can be used for all the purposes that silver is used for, including plated-ware, solid ware, ornaments,
saddlery, hardware, &c. It can be manufactured into the desired articles by rolling, hammering, casting, molding, plating, &c.
The following is the compound in the proportion of the ingredients: Five pounds tin,
set forth.
