desirable in view of Athe large number of parts which have heretofore been considered necessary in an arrangement of that sort.
I claim:
1. In a brake, the combination of levers and pull rods. one complete set of which is located at each side of a truck, a beam or bar connecting the two sets of riggings and a support for said rigging located intermediate the length of said bar.
:2. In a brake. the combination of brake levers 'and connecting rods, one complete set of which is located at. each side of a truck. whereby said levers are connected and apply their force. at a point close to the brake shoes, beams or bars connecting the riggings on opposite sides on the truck, and supporting elements connected to said beams at a point intermediate their ends and located substantially at the longitudinal center line of the truck, substantially as described.
3. In a clasp brake for trucks, the combination of brake shoes applied to each side of each pair of wheels. a beam connecting each pair of shoes, brake levers. one at each end of each beam, connect-ions betweenthe brake levers of each side of the truck, a cylinder pull rod for each set of levers, and supporting links connected to said beams, said supporting links comprising the sole supporting means for said rigging.
l. In a brake, the combination of brake levers and connecting rods. the rods connecting certain of said levers providing a Copies of this patent may be obtained for ve cents each,
space therebetween, and a bracket connected to a rigid part of the truck and projecting into said space, whereby said rigging is guided against lateral movement, substantially as described.
5. In a brake arrangement, the combination of heads carrying slices, a brake bar connecting adjacent heads. a brake rigging located at each side of the truck and connected to said brake bars at a point close to said head, and supporting means for said riggings and bars applied directly to said bars at a point substantially on the longf tudinal center line of the truck, substantially as described.
6. In a brake. the combination of br`ake heads and shoes applied to both sides of each pair of wheels, a brake bar connecting said heads, and a brake rigging at each side of said truck, the brake levers of which rigging are connected to said brake bars at a point close to said brake heads. the brake levers atan extreme end of the truck, being anchored to the truck. whereby the pull is from the opposite end of the truck, guiding means applied to said riggings and supporting means applied to said brake bars, substantially as described.
