Canada, have invented a new and Improved Moldfor Building-Blocks,of which the following is a specification.
I My .present application is a divisional part Y of my copending application filed on June 13, 1916, Serial No! 106,940, and my said present invention has 'for its object to provide a simple, inexpensive and easily manipulated combination of elements adapted for being coiiperatively assembled to provide a. series of like shaped plastic receiving molds or forms, that are so arranged and combined that a large number of the formed or molded blocks in unif expeditiously made at the same time.
' With other objects in view that will hereinafter appear, my present invention em,- bodies ina mold for buildingblocks, certain details of construction and combination of parts, hereinafter explained, specifically pointed out in the appended claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in whichz Figure 1 is a perspective view.
Fig. 2 is a similar view, on an enlarged scale, of a-portion of my present form of mold, some of the mold pockets being shown empty and parts being shown in section.
Fig. 3 is a transverse section thereof on the line 33 on Fig. 2.

The anchor plates have slots for receiving the ends of tie rods or bolts 8 and 9, one at each end of the mold, and each of which, at one end, has a head 10 and the other end threaded for receiving a clamp nut 11, as is clearly illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2,by reference to which it will be seen that when the rods 8 and 9 are operatively adjusted, by screwing up the .nuts 11-11, the angled side bars 1 and 2 of the carrying or main frame, are drawn up for holding the mold pocket forming elements together, as is clearly shown in Fig. 1.
Angled bars 13, 14, 15 and 16 are fixedly attached, by rivets 12, to each end of the angled bars 1 and 2 and the said members 13,14, 15 and 16, with the angled bars 1 and 2, the slotted angled members 4, 5, 6, and 7 and the tie rods 9 and 8, form the complete referred to.
l7-17 designate sole or supporting plates that extend transversely with respect to the side bars 1 and 2 and have their ends restingupon thehorizontallyflanged portions of the said angled members 1 and 2.
In the present showing, the carrying frame is designed to accommodate a number of molds, arranged in rows of six in-length, and in such arrangement, I employ seven the end ones 1717 of which are comparatively narrow while the intermediate ones are relatively wide.

it were, the full length of the transverse sets. of blocks, and with the ends of the side plates or sections 20 interlockably abutting the end plates, as hereinafter more fully explained.
The end plate 19 in my present construction at a short distan has a plurality of similar shaped alining tongues 31, V-shaped in cross section, with the ends of adjacent onesof the said tongues 31 spaced apart a distance equal'to the thickness of the partition or side plates 20,- and the tongues 31' at one end are beveled or tapered as indicated at 22, while the other end terminates in a straight or upright surface indicated by 34, asbest shown in Figs. 5 and 9, by reference to which it will be seen that the straight edge 34 of one tongue isadjacent the beveled end '22 ofanother tongue.
The V-shaped grooves 32 in the end plate have both their ends terminating in abrupt dicated at 38.

Each side or partition plate 20, that cooperates with the end piates, hereinbefore described has a ,continu us longitudinally disposed ll-sha-ped tongue atone side, one end of which is tapered as at 36, and, on the other side, it has a longitudinally disposed V-shapedgroove 37, one end of which terminates short of one end of'the plate, as in;
. has a laterally projected V-shaped slot formmg web 40 whose upper edge is flushed with the "upper edge of the plate, as shown. r" I From the foregoing taken-in connectionwith the drawings, the complete construction and the manner in which the several parts tha. constitute my present construction of mold are assembled for use, .will be readily understood by those skilled in the art to which my invention relates. In the use of my present invention-fithe mold is set up bybeginning at any corner of the carrying frame and first placing an end from its upper edge,

Another side plate is then placed upon the sole plates with its ends abutting the opposite pair of end plates, the said ends of the side plate being rigidly held in place by fitting between the tongues'31 onthe said end plates.
Another pallet. 18 is then placed in position with its edges bearing against the adj acent set side plate and the opposite end plates, after which another side plate isset up'and so on. 7
By having machined pallets within the mold pockets engaging .the side and end "plates, as stated, a. rigid mold structure is provided and when the parts are assembled in the manner stated one that will produce absolutely rectangular or square blocks without the slightest trouble to the operator.

To explain'th e tongues and grooves of the block formed by my present construc- :tion of mold are made by the tongues and grooves of the side and end plates, the cross channel 7 is made by the filler portion 39' on the side plate and the slot 9 is produced by the V-shaped web 40 that projects from the portion 39 of the said side plate.
In the operation of making. a nest of after the mold forms have been properly'positioned, a self-binding surfacing materia is run into-the mold ockets and then a self-hardening body or ackin material .or upper e ges of the mold members and around the tongue members and into the grooves,- after which the filled mold isallowed to set and when set, the entirev mold may be readily separated by releas ng thetle bolts at the opposite-ends thereof.
By reason of the peculiar formation of the blocks made by my present construction of mold, they can be readily assembled in constructmg a wall or partition and secured to the angled uprights or guides in the manner clearly shown in Fi 12, in which the said blocks are shown tier? to the said uprights by nail or rod clips 80 that have their opposite ends bent at right angles and in opposite directions, whereby when applied for use, one of the endslaps over one edge of the uprights and the other end extends laterally of the slot 9 and lies flatwise on the cross channel f, it being understood that when the next block is placed in position, the clips 80 are firmly embedded in the wall and tied to the uprights.
What I claim is: 1. A mold of the class described having a series of longitudinally extending side mold plates, transversely extending end mold plates, each of the said side plates being provided with V-shaped tongues and V-shaped grooves, a filler located in the said groove and a slot forming web carried by the said filler. 1
2. A mold of the class described having a pair of transversely extending end mold plates, a series oflongitudinally extending side mold plates located between the end plates, each of the said side mold plates having a V-shaped tongue and a V-shaped groove, a filler piece in the groove and a slot forming web projected laterally from the filler piece of the said side plate.
3. Ina mold of the class described, the
combination with a plurality of transverse or end mold plates; of a lurality of side mold plates, said side mold plates each including a filler piece and a laterally projected angular extension adapted for form-' ing a slot across one edge of a block when formed in the mold.
4. In a mold of the character stated, a
plurality of end plates, a plurality of side plates located between the end plates, the
said side and end plates being removably sustained on the supporting frame, the end plates having a series of separated alining -shaped tongues at one side, each tongue having one end terminating in a straight edge and the other edge terminating in a beveled edge, a series of corresponding V- shaped grooves on the other side of the said end plates whose ends terminate in straight GEORGE MILLER MARSHALL.
