' The receiving portion oi' the trough is provided longitudinally thereof with suitably-spaced spring strips if) which afford two parallel chambers of app1'rp1iate ividih for the two rows ot' match hooks as they are progressively advanced by. the plungers. These strips are spaced sutliciently to bear against the opposing edges ol kthe articles and maintain them in upright position. The ends of the strips adjacent the plunger are beveled andyieldable laterally, as at 30, so as to act in conjunction with the plunger as vertical guides for the articles as they are delivered t'o thetrough, and vet permit the advancement ot the articles y the plunger.
