To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, TROY KinmNoswon'rr-r, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ash Grove, in the county of Greene and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Display Devices, of which the following is a specification.

This invention is an improved display device comprising a series of cards and tapes connecting the cards together so that the cards with samples, photographs, or the like thereon, cannotbecome mixed or displaced and may yet be examined with as great convenience as if the cards were entirely separated from one another, the tapes adapting the cards to be gathered together and arranged like a book or tablet and readily placed in the holder or receptacle and so that their edges all correspond and the tapes are caused to form connecting loops which are tightly stretched over the edges of the cards.

The invention consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of devices, hereinafter described and claimed.

My improved display device comprises a series of cards or boards 1 of suitable size and which may be made of any suitable material, the said cards being adapted for displaying samples, photographs, or other objects which are pasted or otherwise secured thereon. Each card is provided at points spaced from one edge thereof with slits or openings 2 for the reception of the doubled loops 3 of tapes 4, the said loops or doubled portions of the tapes being passed through the said slits or openings and being then engaged by keys 5 which may be made of sheet tin or other like material. Each key is here shown as comprising a stem for engaging the loop of a tape and a pair of heads 7 at the ends of the stem to bear on the card.

The samples 8, photographs, or other articles to be displayed by the cards are pasted or. otherwise secured on the cards and arranged to cover the keys and the bights of other when the device is extended.

the 'loops- The lengths of the loops of the tapes are such'as to enable the cards to be turned like the leaves of a book when the device is folded or to be drawn out one from another and each partly uncovered by an- When the cards are folded, one upon the other, the loops are tightly stretched over the upper edges of the cards.

The cards may be drawn outwardly from one another to partly display the sample or photograph on each, and by taking hold of the top card and by placing the hand underneath the bottom card and lowering the pack or book of cards, the whole system may be caused to automatically fold into a compact bundle in perfect order, and with no chance of becoming mixed or tangled. On the margin of each card may be written or printed the lot numbers, quality, price, or any other matter of description, while on the top card may be placed a general description applicable to all the samples, photographs or the like, contained/An the pack or book. The two outer cards are preferably thick and stiff boards may be used, if desired, to form ahe 1povers or protectingsides of thepack or A loop 9 is formed by the tape or tapes on one of the outer or cover cards and the opposite end of the tape or tapes extends from the other outer or cover card as shown at 10 in Fig. 2 and said projecting ends may be tied if desired. An elastic strap 11 is attached to the loop 9 and is provided at its outer end with a clip 13 arranged to engage a button 12 on the said elastic strap near the end of the latter after the strap has been passed around the pack or book and to thus hold the pack or book in closed or folded position as shown in Fig. 2.

By the provision of the slits in the cards through which the bights of the tape loops extend and by the provision of the keys which are engaged by said bights, the loops are rendered readily detachable from the cards by first removing the keys, as will be understood, hence any card or cards may be removed and others may be substituted therefor at will. H

Having described the invention, what is claimed is:

1. A display device of the class described comprising a series of cards and tapes con necting the cards together and attached to each card at points spaced from one edge thereof, said tapes forming loops of such length as to be tightly stretched over said edges of the cards when the latter are arranged to form a pack or book.

2. A display device of the class described comprising a series of cards and tapes provided with loops attached to the cards at points spaced from one edge thereof said tapes connecting the cards together.

8. A display device of the class described comprising a series of cards, each having openings at points spaced from one edge thereof, tapes doubled to form loops, the bights of which are passed through said openings, andkeys engaging the bights of said tape loops and bearing on said cards and detachably securing the cards to the tape loops.
