2. In a seam, the combination with two opposing edges of fabric, four parallel rows of needle loops passing throughI the fabrics, two lwithin each edge, and a single cross thread connecting all the loops on one face of the fabric, and two cross threads connectand alternately encircling and passing" through succeeding and preceding needle loops, and cross threads on the upper face of the fabric passing alternately back and forth between the outer rows of loops, crossing each other at the center and bound down by the needle'thread's between the loops.
4. In a seam, the combination with two ioppo'sing edges of fabric, four parallel rowsv of needle loops passing through the fabrics two within each edge, and a single cross thread having. a strand passing directly through all four of Asaid loops transversely of the seam and having diagonal strands ezitending longitudinally of the line of seam and alternately encircling and passing through succeeding and preceding needle loops, and cross threads' on the upper face of the fabric passing alternately back and forth between the outer rows of loops crossing each other at the center and bound down by the needlethreads between the loops.
