IMPROVEMENT IN BELT-FASTENERS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MAROELLUS OLMSTED, of Alum Creek, in the county of .Bastrop and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Belt-Fasteners and 1 do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which- My invention consists in improving belt-fasteners, as hereinafter fully described and subsequently pointed out in the claim.
Figure l is a plan view of my belt-fastener, and Fig. 2 a longitudinal section through the middle.
Two frames are used by me, each consisting of side bars A A and cross-bars B B. The two side bars of each are then fastened together by a hinge-joint, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing. The belt, which corresponds in width to the crossbars B, is passed alternately over and under the bars whenever it is discovered to have become slack, while the joint allows the fastener to conform to the direction of the belt.
Having thus described all that is necessary to a full understanding of my invention, what I esteem to be new is The two frames A A B B. fastened together by a hinge-joint, as specified, and operating in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
