2 SHEETS-SHEET 2.
TORNE YS Jill provided with a hook 27 which is adapted engage any one of the links of the chain after the saine has been drawn taut and in position ,to support the arm Q3 vto which. it is connected. The sleeve members 2O and 2l are retained in adjusted positions by means of locking pins 28 extending through openings 18 in the standard beneath said members. A plurality of platform boards :29 are laid upon the supportng arms 23 adjacent the outer extremities thereof, said boards being arranged as shown in Fig. 3 with their ends overlappinfr.
A platform adjusting device is employed for raising and lowering the platform and comprises oppositely disposed operating levers 30 pivoted at their inner ends atl to i the upper sleeve member and normally extending 1n an upward direction, as shown in Fig. l. when the outer extremities of t e arms engage the wall of the structure.'
To each of the levers is secured, adjacent its pivot-ed end, one end of a connecting linlr 32 the other end of which is pivoted at 33 to the sleeve 2l. It will be seen` from this description that when the free ends of the levers 30 are lowered the upper sleeve member :20 will be raised through the medium of the connecting links 32 whereupon the outer ends of the arms 23 will be elevated and detached from engagement with the structure wall. When in this position, thelowermost locking pin 28 under the sleeve 2O is withdrawn and again inserted into an openi 13 below said sleeve. Then by raising 'tin ends of the levers 30 the lower sleeve member 2l will be raised until the desired position is reached and the arms 23 are sul'- stantia ily may be inserted beneath said sleeve in order to support it in its adjusted position. The outer ends of the arms Q3 will again be adjusted into contact with the structure wall and any movement of the scaffold will be prevented.
A material hoisting apparatus is employed and consistsy of a rotatable ring member 34 fitted into an annular groove 35 formed in the periphery of the sleeve member 20 adjacent the upper end thereof. The ring member 34 is provided with a number of bearings 3G in either of which is mounted the lower end of a vertical arm 3? provided at its upper end with a coupling 38 from which extends a sectional crane arm 39 the outer end' of which has secured thereto a hook 4G for supporting the pulley 4l. A support is provided for maintaining the crane arm 39 in an adjusted position and consists of a pair of pivoted members l2 having notches d3 in the upper ends thereof for receiving said arm S9. One of the mem bers l2 has secured thereto adjacent its lower end one end of a brace @l the other end of which is provided with longitudiliorizontal whereupon a pin 28- nal slot for receiving a fastening screw 4.6 which engages the other arm Ll2 and retains said arms in their adjusted positions. This support is preferably mounted upon the platform board* QS) as shown.

l. A scaffolding apparatus comprising a sectional standard having a plurality of openings therein, uppe` and lower sleeve members mounted on said standard und relatively adjustable to each other, means engaging the openings in said standard for supporting said sleeve members in adjusted positions, a plurality of sectional and resilient platform board supporting arms extending radially from saidr lower sleeve member and engaging the wall of a structure, flex ible brace connections between said arms and the upper sleeve member, a device for adjusting said upper and lower sleeve members relative to each other, said device including oppositely disposed levers pivoted to said upper sleeve member, and connections between said levers and the lower sleeve member whereby the upper sleeve member is 'aised when the levers are lowered and the lower sleeve member raised when the levers are raised.
2. A scaffolding apparatus comprising a standard, upper and lower platform supporting sleeve members mounted upon said standard. and adjustable relative to each other, resilient supporting arms extending from one or" said members and having their outer ends in contact with the wall of a structure when said arms are in horizontal position, and means for alternately shifting said arms from horizontal to diagonal positions and adjusting said sleeve members whereby to raise the apparatus.
3. A. scaffolding apparatus comprising a standard, upper and lower sleeve members mounted upon said standard and adjustable" relative to each other, resilient platform supporting arms extending from one of said sleeve members and having their outer ends in contact with the wall of a Structure when, the arms are in substantially horizontal position, flexible connections between said upper sleeve member and said supportino arms and lever connections lbetween sai sleeve members adjustable in one direction for raising said upper sleeve member and exerting upward pull on-said flexible connections to disengage the outer ends of said platform supporting arms and adjustable in the opposite direction to raise said lower sleeve member to again cause the outer extremities of said platform supporting' arms to engage the wall of the structure.
4. i. scaffolding apparatus comprising a, standard, upper and lower sleeve members mounted thereon and adjustable relative to each other, re. `lient platform suppovtio arms extending .rr n: one said sleeve ni.
Lamme bers and having their outer ends in Contact with the Wall of a structure when the arms are in a substantially horizontal position, and means for adjusting said sleeve mem 5 bers relative to each other whereby to raise the outer ends of said supporting arms oui;
of contact with said struct ure Wall, said means being also operated to raise the sleeve member to which said supporting arms are connected after the outer ends of said arms 10 have been raised whereby saidv endsv are again caused to Contact the structure Wall.
