I have shown and described a suitable form of mixing device but it will be understood that my invention is not limited to any particular construction of mixer. The mixer is charged by means of a carrier E which in turn is adapted to be filled from a bin F, which latter is placed near the ground and is intended to be filled, by hand labor or otherwise, from piles of material. on the ground or elsewhere. After the carrierhas received its lead it is drawn up to a position above the feed hopper D over a track G and is then dumped, preferably by means which is automatic, into a feed hopper. The car rier E consists preferably of a car provided with the flanged rear wheels 22 and the flat wheels 24 arranged in advance of the flanged wheels 93. This construction is in onforniity with the preferred construction of the track G, which, as shown. consists of a pair of angle irons, the horizontal flanges of which 25 support the wheels ll, while the vertical flanges 26 carry the flanged wheels 23.
Preferably, the lower portion ll of the track is made separate from the upper portion G, being removably seeured'thereto, for example. by the splices The bin F is mounted above this removable track portion ll upon the supports 28. The bin may be of any desired construction. 1 have shown it as provided with the dumping bottom. sections 29 and 30 which are hinged to the bin and are held in their closed position by means of the latches 31. The carrier E may be dumped or otherwise discharged into the feed hopper D in any preferred manner. I have shown the flanges 25 of. the angle iron tracks G cut away from the vertical flanges 26 and bent down into substantially horizontal position, as shown at 52. These track portions 52 may be supported on brackets 53 on the cross pieces 54, extending from the tracks (r to the uprights frame 39. The extremities of the track portions are curved up at 5t; to form stops for the front wheels it of the carrier, As a result of this arrangement the carrier, when it reaches the upper end of the track. is tilted first into the position shown in Fig. 3 and afterward into that shown in Fig. l. The front of the carrier is provided with a hinged door 57 which is normally held closed by a latch 59 pivoted to the carrier, the latch having a tooth 59 which engages a pin 60 on the door. If desired, the arrangement may be repeated on the other side of the door. The track portions 52 are preferably formed with offsets 61. so positioned that the wheels EH pass over the same just as the latch or latches 58 come into contact with the stop or steps 6'2, secured to the feed hopper D.
The drop of the forward end of the car which results brings the latch 58 sharply into contact with the stop 62 and the load in the carrier pushing against door 57 opens the same, allowing the load'in the carrier to be discharged into the feed hopper. Pref erably' the hopper is provided with a rest 63 for the end of the/car. The dumping action is such as to discharge the material with some force from the carrier, insuring complete discharge.

(3 and 7 I have shown a modified form of construction which relatesmer'ely to the su iplementary truck, as it may be called, which carries the-bim indicated in this figure by F, The sup lemehtary truck in this case consists of a fi'ame (54 secured to the frame of truck A by the splice lates (i5 and supported on wheels 66 whicl are mounted on an upright frame 67 in guides ($8 on the truck frame (34. A screw 69, provided with a hand wheel 70, extends through the cross piece 71' of frame 6-1 and into a stationary nut 72 on the cross piece 73 of frame. 67. Continuous with the tracks G on the truck A are truck sections 74 which are pivoted to the tracks G by the pivoted splice plates 75. The track sections 74 at their ends are formed with the slots 76 which receive the axle 77 which is secured to frame 67. The purpose of this arrangement is to level the track sections '74 in case the apparatus is standing on un oven gronnil.
