this character so constructed that the cardsv can not be misplaced.
fr further object is to provide a device so constructed that the cards may be separated from the remainder of the group Without being' misplaced.
@ther objects such as simplicity, durability, cheapness in manufacture, and the general improvement of the art will be more fully described in the following specilication and illustrated in the accompany ing drawingr in which:
Figure il is a perspective view et my device assembled, Fig. 2 is a sectional view oi' the cabinet showing the cards in position, lfig. 8 is a plan view ot' one of the cards, and Fig. et is a sectional View on the line le-it ot lFig. 3.
Referring more particularly to the drawings the cabinet comprises a side portion 1, ends 2 and a bottom 3; the bottom 3 having` a bearing ,groove It formed' adjacent its one edge.
t plurality of cards 5 are mounted in the cabinet. Each of the cards 5 comprises a body portion (i, an index tab 'l and a bear ing,1 portion 8. rThe index tab 7 comprises a projection 9 having, an index portion l0 secured thereto by an eyelet il. 'llie' bearing;1 portion 8 comprises a rounded projec- J tion having an aperture l2 therein, the aperture l?. having a metal binding 13. rlFhe cards i are pivotally mounted in the cabinet by a rod Ibi which runs through the ends Q and Within the bearing groove 4. rlfhe body portions G oit' the cards 5 have interest tables thereon.
rlhe operation of the device is as follows: lt being assumed that the cards are all assembled as shown in Fig. l and it being desired to compute the interest on a certain amount the co-rrect card is selected by its index tab 7 and it is pulled to the right, this Will cause it to revolve on the pivot rod 141- and it Will be separated from. the other cards and Will rest on the tab 7 which serves as a leg or support. When the information desired is obtained it is only necessary to push the card to the lett and it will fall into its correct place.
lt will ol' course be understood that l de not Wish to limit my invention to an interest calculating system for it will readily be seen that the cabinet and cards` l have shown may be used Jfor many other tiling systems. f
Having thus described my invention what l claim is:
l. ln combination with a cabinet having an open top and side and a bearing,` groove formed in its bottom. adjacent said open side, a plurality or' cardspivotally mounted therein, said cards comprising a body portion, an index tab, and a. bearing projection thereon and having an aperture therein, said aperture having a metal binding.
2. A card for tiling cabinets comprising a body portion, an index tab projecting from the side edge of said body portion` and a bea-ring formed on the corner of said body portion` below said tab, said bearing` com prising a rounded projection having an aperture therein.
ln testimony whereof l hereto affix my signature.
