The said electrode 33 is provided with a sparking point t4 coo'perating with a discharging terminal 45 secured to the spark plug 10. This terminal be of any suitable configuration or de sign that may be desired and shown herein as consisting of a U shaped. piece of wire extending beneath the igniter point 44 and. then upwardly and is fixed in the spark plug portion 10. Devices 0'? this character require an interrupter or vibrator of some sort but any device of this character may be employed in any part of the primary circult and is not illustrated herein,
Con siderable difficulty is experienced in connectionwith the use of sparking devices embodying the igniter points and the induction coil as a single unit. The extreme heat communicated to the usual spark plug --When in operation is conveyed to the casing surrounding the induction'coil 1O heating said coil clianging the electrical resistance thereof and giving rise to a certain class of difficulty'and in' addition breaks down the insulation of the induction coil and after respect to both the spark plug portion 10 and the annulus '16 and are preferably bowed although I contemplate using straight arins ifldesired. If the said arms extended straighy upward and parallel with the ancient the spark plug-they would elongate in that direction causing the annulus 16 to be'move'd away from the spark'plug thereby causing the difi'er'ent members to separate or pull one member from the other member separating the insulator and causing a short circuit or permit moisture entering between the crevices resulting in further trouble. By
extending the arms in an angular direction and especially by bowing the same, the tendency of the expansion of the said arms would not be directly upward but would be outward or in an angular direction. In the case of bowing the said elongation will cause a greater amount of inward deflection with relatively less elongation thereof and no separation will occur with respect to the co operating parts. The relative amount of expansion of the arms 17 can therefore be calculated to equal the expansion 01 the porcelain insulator 37, the insulated electrode etc. and all parts including said arms 17 will be cooler than in the case of simi lar devices. Another advantage in bowing the said arms is that it permits oi: use of greater radiating surface for such arms and still permits of the use of a small and thin design thereof.

Claims. 1. In asparking device, a casing contuiu- .ing an induction coil, a screw threaded body,
and radial arms connecting said casing and said screw threaded body.
2. In a sparking device, a casing containing an induction coil, a screw threaded body, and a plurality of bowed radial arins 'connecting said casing and said screw threaded body.
3. In a sparking device, a casing containing an induction coil, a screw threaded body, and a plurality of radiz'iting arms separating said casing and said body and connected to each.
4. In a sparking device, a coil. casing, screw threaded body. a plurality of substantially radial arms disposed angularly in the transverse direction between said casing and said body and separating them one from the other, and an insulated electrode extending axially of said casing and said body and extending from one to the other.
5. In a sparking device a casing containing an induction coil, a screw threadedbody, a plurality of substantially radial arms lictii'iaeii said casing and said body and connecting them one to the other, and an insulated electrode extending through the said body and abutting said casing, said electrode being in circuit with one side oi. the secondary of the induction coil.
