T all :wiwm it may concern: E
Be it known that}, Gaoaon B. Tiioraae, a citizen of the Unit/eel States of America,
and residing, in the city of Bridgeport, county of Fairfield, "and State of Cox, necticut, have invented a certain new and- Irnproveql Attachment-Plug and Eecepta?" cle,'of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to attaclnnentplug struction which constitute improvements over that now commonly in use.
in the accompanying drawings, Figure lis a horizontal section through an attachment plug ankl receptacle in which my invention is. embodied. in one form; Fig. 2 is a plan of the receptacle alone; Fig. 3 is an inverted plan of the same partially broken away; Fig. 4;- is a cross section on the lines 4-4, Fig. 2; Fig. 5 is a perspective of one of the receptacle terminals; Fig. 6 is a cross section on the line (F -6, Fig. :2; Fig. 7 is an inverted. plan of the attachment plug alone; and Fig. 8 is a plan of the insulating disk for the plug.
- As here illustrated, my invention is can bodied in a plug and receptacle of the polarity type. The receptacle comprises a body 10 of insulating material having (lepressed ledges 11 on diagonally opposite corners, on which the wire terminal plates 12 are secured by the screws 13 piercing the. base from belowand taking into tapped holes in the terminal plates. Metallic yoke cars 14 at each end of the body afford means for mounting the receptacle in an outlet box (not shown) and also for securing in position theface plate 15. A flat annular boss 16 may be formed on the upper surface of the receptacle, which boss projects through or into a central aperture formed in the face plate to receive it. Within the area of this boss the body of the receptacle is pierced by two slots 17 and 18 lying at right angles to each other: Thetwo receptacle terminals 19 and 20 pro ect upward into these slots from the straps 21 and Y22 to which they are secured by rivets 23 and to which current is conducted from the wire terminals 12 by the screws 13 which eye tend from the latter to straps Qland let into the lower face of the body 10 and un derlying the straps 21 and 22. These latter straps are electrically connected. to the in the finished. device signed to cover.
