Be it known at I, Amos Bnemrr, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, and resident of New York, in the county of Bronx and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful .Improvements in Kitchen Oabinets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements 1n household furniture with special reference totypes having combined utilities such as are desirable in performing culinary and laundry operations. g

One ob ect isto prov1de a cabinet commodiously arranged to hold the most common kitchen utensils in an orderly manner, convenient of access, thereby saving the time of an operator and avoiding undue exertion.

A second object is to provide such cabinets in an attractive form and at a moderate cost, the same being built in a sanitary type and readily portable.

Other objects which will become apparent, as well as the foregoing, are attained by the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and shown in the accompailig-ing drawings, forming part of this spec cation, and in which Figure 1 is a general perspective view of a kitchen cabinet made in accordance with the invention. Fig. 2 is an end view of the same, drawn to a reduced scale and the end doors removed. Fig. 3 is a similar view, looking at the opposite end. Fig. 4 is a transverse sectional view, taken on line 44 of Fig. 1, and, Fig. 5 is another transverse sectional view, taken on line 5-5 of Fig. 1.

The cabinet frame is built rectangular, the corner posts 10 resting upon the floor and supporting, at some distance from their lower ends, front and side cross-bars 1112 and 1314 respectively. At the top, resting on cleats supported by the posts, is a cover 15 extending over the entire surface and overhanging at the ends and front like the top of a kitchen table, the functions of which it is adapted to perform. A shallow groove 16 is formed near the side and rear edges for preventing fluids which may be spilled on the top from running off and reaching the floor.

Perhaps the most common purpose for which the cabinet may be used is that of a receptacle or container for the varied and numerous articles of daily use for this readifierent sizes ture. These are directly below the cover and lower down, at the sides are two others 22 and 23'holding cups, saucers, plates, etc.; at one side another drawer 24 may be used to contain spices, and condiments, the bottom drawer 25 holding flour, meal or the like.

A closet 26 is provided to contain the larger and heavier cooking utensils, as pots, pans, kettles, etc., which are covered when the doors are closed, keepingthe articles out of sight and protected from dirt. These doors 28 and 29 are provided on their inside with racks 30-31 for holding small articles as indicated.

Below the drawer 20 is a firmly supported sliding board or leaf 32, used for mixing and kneading dough when extended; a narrower board 33,- adJoining, is extensible for cutting bread, meats, sausage and the like. An accessory to the dough kneading operation, to wit, a rolling pm 34, is held in suitable brackets at the left hand end of the strucrted a easily removed when it is desired to make use of it.

Between the large drawers 22 and 23 is a slidable' tank 36 which may be drawn forward when in use, its special purpose being to hold damp clothes preparatory to their being roned. A space 27, for such irons 1s provided in the cabinet.
