Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Crmrsro DIMITROFF DUDEFF, of Gabrovo, in the Kingdom of Bulgaria, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Spinning-Machine Spindles, of which the following description, wherein reference is made in the accompanying drawings, is a specification.
My invention relates to spinning machine spindles which are applicable for use in any of the varied types of spinning machinery, and it consists in providing an appropriate yielding support for an anti-friction roller which I mount in the stationary bearing upon and about which the spindle has to rotate. The said yielding support is of simple formation and may be readily produced, while it permits the detachment or application of the anti-friction roller as may from time to time be found necessary.
In the accompanying drawings, which are illustrative of my invention :Figure 1 is a sectional elevation showing one form of bearing made in accordance with my invention, said bearing being illustrated in connection with a spindle that may be used for ring spinning or flyer spinning. Fig. 2 is a sectional plan on line AB of parts shown by Fig. 1.
In carrying my invention into effect I make use of a stationary spindle 2 which is fixed in its supporting rail 3'in a well-known manner. The upper end of this spindle has an indent or recess 4 for the reception of the lower end 5 of the spindle 5 that has to rotate about its axis so that the upper end of said stationary spindle 2 acts as a support for the rotary spindle 5 above. Where necessary a hardened foot-step 5 with a cover 5 might be made use of as means for protecting the upper end of the spindle 2 against wear.
Fixed to the lower end of the spindle 5 is a sleeve or tube 6 which takes over the stationary spindle 2 so that at the lower end of said tube 6 the whorl or driving pulley 7 may be mounted thereon. At the lower end of the stationary spindle 2 aproximately in the same plane as the whorl 7 a recess or cavity 2* is formed, into or within which I mount a roller 8 so that it may revolve about its axis and with one part of its outer surface tangential with the circle representing the inner circumference of the whorl 7, so that said roller 8 will guide the sleeve 6 and its whorl 7 in the path in which it rotates. The antifriction roller 8 acts as a moving surface for withstanding the lateral pressure or pull of the driving band 10 on the whorl 7, and therefore carries the tube 6 and its spindle 5 in their proper circular paths.
As means for forming a, support for the roller 8 so that it may be readily detached from its position or mounted therein and when in such position so that it will slightly yield, I shape a wire bearing 11 so that the pivots of the roller 8 may enter openings formed by said wire 11 which may then be placed in the recess 2 in the spindle 2, and'when so placed will form a resilient bearing for the said roller 8.
The tube or sleeve 6 which carries the whorl 7 enters a cup 12 at the base 12 which supports the spindle 2 so that the lubricant therein is caused to flow over the parts that have to be lubricated.
Such being the nature and object of my invention, what I claim is 1. In combination, a spinning-machine spindle, an anti-friction roller arranged to coact with said spindle, and yielding bearings for said roller, said bearings being mounted within a recess of a relatively stationary part supporting said spindle.
2. In combination, a spinning-machine spindle, an anti-friction roller arranged to coact with said spindle, and a resilient member forming a bearing for said roller, said resilient member being disposed within a recess formed in a relatively stationary part supporting said spindle.
3. In combination with a spinning-machine spindle, a stationarypart about which the spindle rotates, a pivotal spindle-support, upon said stationary part, for said spindle, an anti-friction roller, and yielding bearings for said roller, said bearings being arranged within a recess in said stationary part so that said roller will engage said spindle.
4. In combination with a spinning-machine spindle, a stationary part about which the spindle rotates, a pivotal support, upon said stationary part, for said spindle, an anti-friction roller, and yielding bearings forsaid roller, said bearings being posiname to this specification in the presence tiened W1th1n a recess 111 said stationary of two subscrlblng Witnesses.
