CHANGEABLE EXHIBITOR.
"Be it known". that "I, iGnonen Menomonie, in. thecounty of ,Dunn' and State .ofWisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Change- 7 able. Exhibitors, of which the following is a specification, reference being had tothe V i accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to certain improve: ments in changeable exhibitors and hasfre-V lation more particularly" to adeviceaof this an object of the invention to provide a de- .rotatably supported exhibiting device trav- 7 eling in a'predetermined path, and whereby tated at It "s also an object of the invention to said exhibiting device isintermittently ,ro-

partly in section illustrating a changeable 6Xl11blt01' constructed in accordance -with an embodiment of my invention; Fig. 2-is a V ew "1n topplanof the device as illustrated in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 isan enlarged detail the carriers as herein disclosed, .the "outer pglate be ng omitted; Fig. 5 is an elevational new of the fixed disk as herein set forth; Fig. 6 is an elevational view of the rotatable disk as herein included; Fig. '7 1s .a sectionalviewtaken substantially on theline 7 of Fig. 3,; and Fig. 8 is a' sectional .view .takensubs'tantially on the line 8-8 of Fig. 3. r
As disclosed in the accompanying drawings, -F denotes a frame substantially rectangular'in form and having its membersl substantially ueshape in cross section with the free longitudinal marginal portions of thefside walls of each of the members pro; vided with the inturned flanges 2, affording a ,-track-w,ay.Txin which travel the carriers G. The carriers C are caused to travel along the track-way T through the medium of the endless chain 3, in a manner to be hereinafter more particularly referred to, said" chain being disposed around the guide one will suflice forthe purposes of disclosure.
vAs herein set forth, I each of the carriers G comprisesthe superimposed rectangular theother by the interposed rectangular vplate 7 of .a diameter substantially equal to the Y widthgfivthe track-way T, :the' plates 6 overlying the opposite faces of the flanges 2 for purpose which is believed to be self-evicent.
It is to be noted that the pin 10 is positioned on the plate 11 a distance away from the point of connection between the plate 11 and the chain 3 equal to the radius of each of the sprockets 4, so that the carrier C is pulled absolutely or snugly into the corner of the track-way T when the plate 11 turns over the surface of a sprocket ft. By this an rangement it will be seen that the pin 10 at all times remains at a dead center so that the carrier C in making a turn in the track-way T does not rotate, and therefore always remains in the same position. The stub shaft 8 is non-rotatably engaged with the plates 6 and 7 and extends a predetermined distance in advance of the outer plate 6 and ter minates in the reduced threaded portion 12, to which is fixed the disk lt having a sectorof 90 out out, as indicated at 15, to afford a visual opening as will presently be apparent.
Loosely mounted upon the shaft 8 intermediate the outer plate 7 and the disk 14%, is the sleeve 16 having its opposite ends provided with the annular flanges 17 and 18, the inner flange 17 being provided with the radially disposed outstanding fingers or pins 19 arranged in equi-distantly spaced relation, and as herein embodied, four in number. The pins 19 are adapted to engage the trips 20 suitably positioned upon the frame F whereby it will be perceived that as a pin 19 contacts with a trip 20, the sleeve 16 will be given a quarter turn so that the matter to be exhibited arranged on the outer face of the disk 21 exposed through the opening 15, may be changed, as said disk 21 is suitably secured to the outer face of the annular flange 18. As is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, the outer face of the disk 21 is radially divided into four fields 22, to each of which differing matter to be exhibited may be arranged.
The sleeve 16 is normally held against rotation about the shaft 8 through the medium -of the clutch ball 23 arranged within the radial opening 24 formed in the outer annular flange 18 and in communication with the bore of the sleeve 16 and which is adapted to be forced through the medium of the expansible member 25 into one of the four equi-distantly spaced recesses 26, arranged in an annular series in the periphery of the shaft 8. In practice, it is preferred that the recesses 26 be arran ed in planes radiating from the shaft 8 in longitudin'al alinement, relative to the shaft 8 and the radial planes occupied by the fingers or pins 19. As herein embodied, the expansible member 25 comprises a conventional coil spring and is interposed between the ball 23 and the cap or set screw 27 threaded in the outer end of the opening 24. I also find it of advantage to provide the outer disk 14 with a shelf 28 on which an article of merchandise may be positioned for display, or if preferred an article of merchandise or other article may be secured directly to the outer face of the outer disk 14.
From the foregoing description, it is thought to be obvious that an exhibitor constructed in accordance with my invention is of an extremely simple and comparatively inexpensive nature and is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled, and it will alsobe obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without material departure from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation of the several parts herein shown in. carrying out my invention in practice.
I claim:

- 4. A device of the character described comprisinga frame including angularly re- I "lated members, each of said members being substantially 'U-shape in cross section and having their side walls provided with inturnecl flanges to afford a track-way a 'carrier coacting with the track-way, a shaft inner wall of each of the members,an endless chain adapted to travel within the members at the corners of the, track-way, said plate being operatively connected with the p is chain, the connection between the .shaft and the plate being at a point on the plate spaced from the 'operative'connection between the plate and the chain a distance equal to the Y radius of the sprockets 5. A device of hei character described comprising a frame includingangularly relatedmembers, each of said membersbeing substantially U -shape in cross section and having their side walls provided with inturned flanges to afford a track-way, a car-' rier coacting with the track-way, a shaft supported by the carrier, a plate pivotally engaged with the inner end of the shaft and having a straight edge. coacting with the inner wall of each of the members, an endless chain adapted to travel within the members, guide sprockets carriedby the members at the corners of the track-way, said plate being operatively connected with the chain,
the connection between the shaft and the plate being at. a point on the plate spaced from the operative connection betweenthe plate and the chain a distance equal to the 'radiusof the sprockets, the carrier including plates overlying the opposite faces of a the inturned flanges.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afliX my signature in the presence of two witnesses;
