As disclosed in the accompanying drawings, -F denotes a frame substantially rectangular'in form and having its membersl substantially ueshape in cross section with the free longitudinal marginal portions of thefside walls of each of the members pro; vided with the inturned flanges 2, affording a ,-track-w,ay.Txin which travel the carriers G. Theplates 6 and .7 have disposed through their axial. centers :the stub shaft "8, the inner end of which has produced in its axial center the recess 9 adapted to be engaged by the pin 10 affording a pivotal connection with the substantially triangular plate 11, the base of which coacts with the inner wall of the members 1 and with the apex thereof operatively engaged with the chain 3.
It is to be noted that the pin 10 is positioned on the plate 11 a distance away from the point of connection between the plate 11 and the chain 3 equal to the radius of each of the sprockets 4, so that the carrier C is pulled absolutely or snugly into the corner of the track-way T when the plate 11 turns over the surface of a sprocket ft. By this an rangement it will be seen that the pin 10 at all times remains at a dead center so that the carrier C in making a turn in the track-way T does not rotate, and therefore always remains in the same position. The stub shaft 8 is non-rotatably engaged with the plates 6 and 7 and extends a predetermined distance in advance of the outer plate 6 and ter minates in the reduced threaded portion 12, to which is fixed the disk lt having a sectorof 90 out out, as indicated at 15, to afford a visual opening as will presently be apparent.
Loosely mounted upon the shaft 8 intermediate the outer plate 7 and the disk 14%, is the sleeve 16 having its opposite ends provided with the annular flanges 17 and 18, the inner flange 17 being provided with the radially disposed outstanding fingers or pins 19 arranged in equi-distantly spaced relation, and as herein embodied, four in number. The pins 19 are adapted to engage the trips 20 suitably positioned upon the frame F whereby it will be perceived that as a pin 19 contacts with a trip 20, the sleeve 16 will be given a quarter turn so that the matter to be exhibited arranged on the outer face of the disk 21 exposed through the opening 15, may be changed, as said disk 21 is suitably secured to the outer face of the annular flange 18. As is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, the outer face of the disk 21 is radially divided into four fields 22, to each of which differing matter to be exhibited may be arranged.
The sleeve 16 is normally held against rotation about the shaft 8 through the medium -of the clutch ball 23 arranged within the radial opening 24 formed in the outer annular flange 18 and in communication with the bore of the sleeve 16 and which is adapted to be forced through the medium of the expansible member 25 into one of the four equi-distantly spaced recesses 26, arranged in an annular series in the periphery of the shaft 8. In practice, it is preferred that the recesses 26 be arran ed in planes radiating from the shaft 8 in longitudin'al alinement, relative to the shaft 8 and the radial planes occupied by the fingers or pins 19. As herein embodied, the expansible member 25 comprises a conventional coil spring and is interposed between the ball 23 and the cap or set screw 27 threaded in the outer end of the opening 24. I also find it of advantage to provide the outer disk 14 with a shelf 28 on which an article of merchandise may be positioned for display, or if preferred an article of merchandise or other article may be secured directly to the outer face of the outer disk 14.
From the foregoing description, it is thought to be obvious that an exhibitor constructed in accordance with my invention is of an extremely simple and comparatively inexpensive nature and is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled, and it will alsobe obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without material departure from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation of the several parts herein shown in. carrying out my invention in practice.
I claim:
1. A device of the character described comprising a frame provided with an endless track-way, a carrier coacting with said track-way, means for imparting movement to the carrier, a shaft projecting outwardly from the carrier, a disk rotatably mounted on the carrier, a second disk fixed to the shaft in advance of the first named disk, saidsecond named disk having a portion out out to afford a visual opening and means coacting with the movable disk for intermit tently rotating the same.
2. A device of the character described comprising a frame provided with an endless track-way, a carrier coacting with said track-way, means for imparting movement to the carrier, a shaft projecting outwardly from the carrier, a disk rotatably mounted on the carrier, a second disk fixed to the shaft in advance of the first named disk, said second named disk having a portion cut out to afford a visual opening and means coacting with the movable disk for intermittently rotating the same, and means for normally maintaining the rotatable disk against rotation about the. shaft.
3. A device of the character described comprising a frame provided with a trackway, a carrier coacting with the track-way, means for imparting movement to the carrier, a shaft carried by the carrier and ex tending in advance thereof, a sleeve rotatably mounted upon the carrier, means for normally holding the sleeve against rotation, fingers radiating from the sleeve, a trip carried by the frame adapted to engage the fingers of the sleeve for partially rotating the sleeve, a disk carried by the outer end of the sleeve, and a second disk fixed to rec : bers, guide vsprockets carried by the' memthe shaft in advance of the sleeve'a-nd having a portion thereof cut out to aiforda visual opening.
