This cfiectually fastens the spring, spreader and guide together so that their proper relative positiens are insured and the combined parts can then be handled as a unit and can be placed in a shuttle as a single unit.

I claim: 1. A shuttle for weft replenishing looms having, in combination, a bent weft carrierholding spring; a spreader fitting between the'legs of said spring; and a weft carrier directing guide, said guide having upper and lower plates united by the directing incline, said top and bottom plates extending sides downwardly along the sides of the spring shank and thence extending laterally to form flanges adapted to fit within grooves in the shuttle, and the end-of the top plate being bentdownwardly back ofthe curved inner end of the spring, whereby said spring, spreader and guide are united together prior to insertion in the shuttle, and said spreader having a bolt receiving hole adapted to register with the bolt receiving holes in the shank of the spring and said spreader fur,- ther having an inclined end adapted to fit the inner face of the directing incline of the guide. p

A shuttle for weft replenishing looms having, in combination, a bent weft carrier holding spring; a spreader fitting between the legs of said spring; and a weft carrier directing guide, said guide having upper and lower plates united by the directing i11- cline, said top and bottom plates extending respectively. above and below the spring and spreader, the upper plate being bent at its sides downwardly along the sides of the spring shank and thence outwardly to con stitute flanges fitting grooves in the shuttle,
and the end of the top plate being bent downwardly back of the inner end of the spring, whereby said spring, spreader and guide are united together prior to insertion in the shuttle, and said spreader having a bolt receiving hole adapted to register with the bolt receiving holes in the shank of the spring and said spreader fitting within the spring and guide so as to be maintained in position with its bolt receiving hole registering with the bolt holes of the spring.
3. A shuttle for weft replenishing looms having, in combination, a bent weft carrier holding spring; a spreader fitting between the legs of said spring; and a bent metal retainer folded around said spring and spreader so as to lock the same together, the top plate of said retainer being bent down wardly outside of the shank of the sprin and outwardly to constitute flanges to fit
