To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MAncusW. BRUBAKER, a. citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Hair-Drying Frames, of which the following is a specification.

The drying of ladies hair after the same has been washed is generally a tedious operation owing to the difliculty of supporting the hair so that the air mav freely pass through the same.

It is the object of my invention to provide a frame that will fit upon the head and which will support and hold the hair so that the air may pass freely therethrough.

A further object is to provide a detachable vizor for the frame which can be quickly attached thereto so that the .wearer may walk or sit in the sunlight while the hair is being dried, which vizor will protect the e es.

A still further object is to make the parts adjustable and detachable from each other so as to be foldable for packing.

In the drawings forming a part of this application: Figure 1 is a top plan of my device with a vizor attached. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the device illustrated in Fig. 1. Figs. 3 and 4 are enlarged perspective details of joints in the device.

Referring to the drawings 10 is a flexible metal head band, one end of which, 11, telescopically receives the other end 12. A slide 13 is mounted on the band near the end and clamps and holds the end 12 from moving after the band is adjusted to fit the head of the wearer. A hair supporting ring 14, preferably formed of wire, is provided with braces 15 which are revoluble on the ring so that when detached from the head band they may be folded into the ring for packing. The lower ends of these braces are a little narrower than the main portions making shoulders 16 that rest upon the staples of the head band when the parts are positioned for use. Apertures 17, a little wider than the brace and slits 18 are cut in the band and the portions of the band between the apertures and slits are pressed outwardly and formstaples 19 to hold the ends of the braces connected to the band. The ends of the braces are passed on the Gopies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the outside of the portions of the band above and below the staples and insidev of the stables. The vizor is formed from sheet metal and is provided with a number of T-shaped-tongues 20 that are cut from the upper portions thereof but not detached therefrom. These tongues are passed through T-shaped slots 21 in the head band from the inside and the vizor slid along the band to bring the heads of the tongues to register withthe narrower portions of the slots in the band when the vizor cannot separate from the band and is carried thereby.

In the use of the device the head band is adjusted to fit the head of the user. After I the hair is washed and dried with a towel the device is slipped over the wet hair and positioned with the head band on the head and the ring projecting away from the head with the wet hair hanging over the ring. The hair can then be spread on the ring which holds the hair supported so that the air can freely circulate therethrough. If the wearer intends to walk or sit in the sun or before a fire the vizor is attached to the head band before the device is positioned fpfr drying the hair, otherwise it will be left 0 By detaching the braces from the head band the device can be folded so as to occupy but little space. By raising the braces so that the ends may be passed inwardly behind the staples the device becomes collapsible instead of detachable. The inner sides of the head band may be covered with felt (not shoWn) if desired.

Having described my invention what I claim is:

1. A hair drying frame, comprising a hair supporting ring; braces revolubly mounted on said ring; an adjustable head band having means to secure the lower ends of the braces either collapsibly or detachably connected thereto;

2. A hair drying frame, comprising a hair supporting ring; an adjustable head band; and braces cdnnected to said ring and band; in combination with a vizor detachably connected to said head band.
