GAS-STOVE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 10, 1916.
Application filed Apri121, 1916. Serial No. 92,767.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, FREDERICK Gr. SKEL- TON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gas-Stoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention is directed to heating devices for use in connection with gas burners of the illuminating type, an has for its, object to provide a device of this character which can be easily and quickly attached to or removed from the conventional form of gas burner.
A further object of the invention is to provide a heating device of this nature which consists of a minimum number of parts, and one which can be manufactured at a very small cost.
\Vith these and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formation, combination and arrangement of parts tobe hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the device. Fig. 2 is the top plan view. Fig. 3 is a vertical central sectional view. Fig. 4: is a sectional view on line H of Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawing, 1 designates the conventional form of gas burners the same the usual threaded nipple 2 which is engaged by the disk 3, said disk serving to support the plate 4:. The plate 1 has radiating therefrom upwardly and outwardly inclined arms 5 which terminate at their upper ends in vertical arms 6, said arms having their upper ends terminat- Gopies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Washington, D. 0.
ing in inwardly directed flanges 7 which are arranged in horizontal position.
Removably mounted on the flanges 7 is a top 8, said top having marginally depending side flanges 9 which serve to trap the heat to some extent beneath the top. The top is provided with the central opening 10 for receiving the grid ring 11 which is supported by the flanges 7 which extend beyond the wall of the opening 10 a sufficient distance to support said ring.
Detachably mounted on the gas tube 12 is a conventional form of burner 13.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that a heating device has been provided which can be quickly attached to the burner upon simply removing the gas tube 12 and engaging the disk 3 and plate 1 upon the threaded nipple 2 after which the gas tube 12 is replaced and will firmly hold the plate and disk in place. i 7
What is claimed is In a heating device for gas burners, a disk adapted to be supported by the burner, a plate engaged on the disk and having arms extending outwardly and upwardly therefrom, said arms terminating in vertical portions, the upper ends of which terminate in horizontal flanges, a top removably supported by the flanges and having a central opening, said flanges having their inner ends extended beyond the wall of the opening, a grid ring engaged in the opening and wit the flanges, and a burner removably engaged with the gas tube of the burner.
' In testimonyv whereof, I aflix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses.
FREDERICK G. SKELTON.
