ELI F. LEWIS, OF WINSTED LAKE, MINNESOTA.
IMPROVEMENT IN WASH-BOILERS.
To all whom itmag concern:
Be it known that I, ELI F. LEWIS, of VVinsted Lake, in the county of McLeod and State of Minthereon which make a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in constructing and arranging the several parts of a wash-boiler, as will be herein set forth.
In order to enable others to make, and use the same, I will describe its construction and operation.
Figure l is aview of the boiler without the lid. Fig. 2 is a portable rack which supports the clothes in the boiler.
A represents a wash-boiler of any desirable shape, which has tubes passing from near the bottom to near the top of the boiler, for conveying the suds and steam in like manner as other boilers now in use. E is a rack which rests on the bottomof the boiler, being strung with a cord suitable to hold the weight of the clothes. The dotted line i '5 shows the bottom of the boiler, below which the sides extend, forming rim B which supports the boiler, the object of Which is to allow the faucet to be inserted down upon a line with the bottom of the boiler, so that when necessary to change the water all the dirty water can be drawn off, which cannot be done with those boilers which draw from a faucet near the bottom. C is the faucet referred to,which is attached to and made part of the boiler on a level with its bottom.
The operation of boiling the clothes is the same as in other boilers having the outside tubes; upon which tubes or their combination with the boiler or, any part of it I make no claim, it being the chief object of my invention to provide for the easy and entire removal of the dirty suds when changing the water.
I claim as my invention- The boiler A, supporting-rim B, faucet O, and rack E, when combined and arranged as and for the purpose shown and described.
