'1 c all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LOUIS H. Mms'rna, a citizen of the lfnited States, residing at Chicago, in the county of (look and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in (jolumn-lllolds, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to molds for forming concrete columns and posts, and its object is to provide a novel and improved sectional sheet metal mold of this kind which is adjustable as to height and diameter for columns of different dimensions? With the herein stated object in View, the invention consists ina combination and 'arrangement of parts to be hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had. to the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 is an elevation of the mold, partly broken away; Fig. 2 is a horizontal section on the line of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is an enlarged sectional detail on the line 33 of Fig. 2, and Fig. i is an enlarged cross-section on the line 4'i of Fig. 1.

The wall is composed of several sections, their number deiending on the diam eter of the column to e molded. The curvature of the sections is such that when they are assembled they form a true circle. For columns of other cross-sections. the mold wall sections will be shaped accordinglv.
At the vertical meeting edges of the sections forming the mold wall it). on the outer face thereof. are mun-ed angle iron'strips 11 which are parallel, and so-locatcd that their outstanding flanges abut. Through these flanges pass bolts 12, whereby the wallsections are held assembled and prevented from collapsing inwar i.
The mold wall 1,0 is externally encircled, at intervals, by hoops 13. The outstanding flanges of the angle strips 11 are notched where the hoops cross the same, the latter seating in the notches. These notches are shown at 14. The inner edges of the hoops, where they cross the of the angle strips which are fastened to the mold wali, have recesses 15 to ciear said flanges. The hoops therefore encircle the outside of the mold ,wall in contact therewith, except at the'angle strips 11. The tunction of the hoops is to firmly hold the mold against bulging outward from the pressure of the concrete filling the same.
