To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, F ILIPPO CILINo, a

. citizen of the United States, and a resident of Pueblo, in the county of Pueblo and State of Colorado, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Combined Nursing- Bottles and Breast-Pumps, of which the following is a full, clear, and exactdescription.

My invention is an improvement in nursing bottles and its principal object is to so design the device that it shall be capable of use without change also as a breast pump. In the latter employment it is also capable of retaining the milk delivered so that it may be conveyed to the child at a distance and the device then employed as a nursing bottle without transference of the milk.

A further object of my invention is the provision of a nursing bottle which is very sanitary in that it may be cleaned from each end as' by a brush and may be rinsed by passing water therethrough.

Further objects and advantages of my invention will later appear'in this specification.

Referring to the single figure of the drawing which is a side elevation of the device complete, the reference numeral 1 indicates a bell shaped portion adapted to fit over the nipple of a breast and having interiorly located screw threads 2. The threads 2 are adapted to engage with similar threads on the cone shaped closure 3, which closure is preferably made of hard rubber and is adapted to tightly close the bell opening, a washer 4 insuring the tightness of the joint.

The bell opens into one end of the container or body portion 6 of the device which body portion 6 is flattened at 7 to provide one of the bottoms on which the device may be stably supported. The body portion 6, at the end opposite the hell 1, is provided with a hollow neck 5 to which a tube 10 endcoples of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents.

The body portion of the device is preferably made of glass for sanitary reasons and I also prefer to so proportion the parts that the device may stand on the cap 3 as well as on the bottom 7.

With the cap 3 in place as shown in the drawings the device is adapted to be used as a nursing bottle, the bottle being conveniently filled through the bell 1 when 3 is unscrewed. lVhen so used, if stood on the bottom 7, the bottle may be rcadilydrained by the child as the neck 5 is substantially in line with this surface. The device is at once adapted for use as a breast pump by the removal of the cap, the tube being sufficiently long to reach to the mothers mouth when the bell 1 has been placed in close contact with the breast and a gentle suction set up through the tube 10 maintaining the action.. In this use the screw threads 2 will assist in maintaining an air tight contact with the breast.

In a device of the class described, a body portion of sufficient size to constitute a re ceptacle, a bell communicating therewith at one end thereof, the axis of said bell being parallel with the longer dimension of said receptacle, a screw threaded cap for closing said bell," a neck communicating with said body portion at the end opposite said bell, a
