MARGARETE SPELLERBERG, OF BERLIN-FRIEDENAU, GERMANY.
DEVICE 'FOR REMOVING WRINKLES FROM THE FACE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. as, rare.
Application filed March 14, 1913, Serial No. 754,267. Renewed March 15, 1916. Serial No. 84,451.
To all whom it may concern: Be 1t known that I, MARGARETE SPELLER- BERG, ne BIERMANN, a cltizen of the Empire of Germany, residing at Berlin-Friedenau,
in the Empire of Germany, have invented a new and useful Device for Removing Wrinkles from the Face, of which the following is a specification. v
My invention relates to anovel device for removing wrinkles from the face, which conbands for connecting together the two plasters and the two temporal combs and passing around the back-head, where they are connected together in any known manner. Each plaster is preferably made triangular (isosceles) and tapers rearward, so that each band can be made comparatively narrow and be passed through the coiffure without attracting attention and its tension can be distributed by means of the front side of the plaster over the skin while preventing the formation of wrinkles on the face. Each plaster may be cut from a fabric made adhesive on the one side and consisting of an elastic tissue comprising elastic or india rubber warps running in the direction of the band and thin wire wefts for stiffening the plaster in the cross direction, while a lower or inner layer of a suitable material, for example net, is provided on the adhesive side of the fabric to cover this side and to prevent it from adhering to anything. Where s'o preferred, both the plasters and the bands may be cut from the said fabric, so that the I tion with reference to the accompanying inner layer will require to be removed as far as the,,p'laster proper reaches for enabling the plaster to adhere to the skin. The upper or outer layer of the fabric may be flesh-colored so "as to prevent the plaster from attracting attention. Or, where so preferred, the upper or outer layer may be a sort of velvet the pile of which consists of hair colored similar to the hair of the wearer.
I will now proceed to describe my invendrawing, in which Figure 1 illustrates a womans head, to which'the novel device is applied, Fig. 2 1s a side .view of a plaster covered with hair and a part of band therewith connected, Flg. 3
is an upper view of the same, the band being assumed to be short and the hair removed from the lower half of the plaster, Fig. 4 is a section on an exaggerated scale through a part of the plaster, and Fig. 5 is a view of the plaster, comb and a portion of the band, showing several tines of the comb passing through the band to connect these parts.
Similar letters of reference refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The device. shown at Fig. 1 consists of two opposite plasters a a, two small combs d 03 and two bands 6 b for connecting together the plasters and the combs and passing around the backhead, where they may be connected together in any known manner, for example by means of a buckle 0 as shown. The two plasters a a are preferably applied to the two temples of the wearer and are to adhere to the skin, so that they can smooth the brow and thus remove any wrinkle. Preferably the two plasters a a are made stifi in the cross direction, so as to prevent the formation of wrinkles under the action of the longitudinal pull of the two bands 6 b. The two combs a? a? are to be connected with the twobands b b in any suitable manner and are to be inserted in the coiflure and to serve as anchors for counteracting the pull of the two plasters a a, if so preferred. If desired, the two combs 03 d may be hidden up in the hair. The bands I) b are preferably also hidden up in the hair and serve for counteracting the pull of the two plasters a a similar to the two combs d d. The buckle a or the like serves for adjusting the tension of the two bands 6 b. As the two bands I) b are made comparatively narrow, the two plasters a a are. preferably made triangular, that is isosceles, as shown, so as to distribute by means of their front sides the pull of the bands over.
a comparatively wide portion of the skin.
In order to prevent the two plasters a a from attracting attention, they may be on the outside flesh-colored, if so preferred. Or they may be covered with hair of a color similar to that of the hair of the wearer, so that the hair can be combed and made wire wefts e in the cross direction, while the lower layer 2 is made from net or any other suitable material adapted to cover the adhesive side of the upper layer 1 and to prevent it from adhering to anything. Where so preferred, the tissue 1 may at the same time form a velvet, the pile 3 of {which is in any known manner made from air.
The band I) may in any known manner be connected with the plaster a. Where so preferred, also the band 6 may together with the plaster a be cut from the same fabric indicated above, so that the lower layer 2 of the same will prevent the band b from adhering to the hair. Where so, desired, the pile 3 may be removed from the band I). When making-both the plaster a and the band 6 from the same fabric, as just indicated, the lower layer ,2 will require to be taken off as far as ,the plaster proper reaches (as indicated by the bent indicated lines in Fig. 2), so as to enable the plaster to adhere to the skin of the wearer. The pile 3 of hair projecting from the outer layer or tissue 1 of the plaster a can then be combed rearward so as to make it run into the co ifiure.
The small comb (13 may for example be connected with the band 6 by extending the comb over the band and projecting certain of its tines through the material thereof, thus counteracting to a certain extent the pull of the plasters and also preventing the band from dropping down. on the head.
I claim:
1. In a wrinkle removing device, a plaster,
a band connected with said plaster and a comb connected with the band so as to hold the band in place when inserted in the coiffure.
2. In awrinkle removing-device, a plaster comprising an elastic tissue with elastic threads in the direction of the tension and wire threads in a direction at right angles thereto, and a band connected with said plaster.
3. In a wrinkle removing device, a plaster comprising a Velvet tissue having elastic threads in the direction of the tension and wire threads in a direction at right angles
