To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AnoLr- Bitumen-mu,
a subject of Emperor William of Germany, and a resident of Muncie, county of Delaware, and State of Indiana, have invented a certain new and useful Adjustable Reflector;
and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which like letters refer to like parts. i
The object of this invention is to provide a means in a headlight whereby the light may be reflected where desired by simple adjusting means. Heretofore it has been necessary to move or bend the entire lamp or bracket in order to focus the light on the desired spot,
7 vide reflectors in a headlight which will understood from the accompanying throw the light directly on the road in front, when used onautomobiles, and not parallel or upward so as to be blinding to persons approaching from the other direction. This headlight is especially adapted to be used-on automobiles and the like, and its construction will comply with" the dimming ordinames of the various cities asa means of protecting others from the glare of'the light. In other words, this light is especially adapted to take the place of dimming devices.
There is provided a reflector adapted to swing from th e top of the lamp and extending downwardly within the casing behind the bulb or lighting means. Another reflector is pivoted to the sides of the casing and extends downwardly therefrom in front of the lighting means so as toreflect the rays rearwardly and toward the first mentioned reflector. Suitable means are secured to the reflectors so as to eitend through the casing, whereby the reflectors maybe adjusted as desired. 7

A second reflector 19 is pivoted at eachend by means'of the pins 20 and 21 to the, sides of the casing forward of the lam or lighting means 12'. Said reflector. swings downwardly in front of said lamp near to the bottom of the casing. The invention claimed is:
A. headlight including a lamp, a casing, a downwardly extending reflector hinged at its upper end tothe upper portion of said casing and extending to the rearward of said lamp, a second upwardly extending reflector pivoted to the sides of said casing forward of said lamp, and external means 1') for adjusting said reflectors.
