CORPORATION OF. CONNECTICUT.
CASE FOR VACUUM-BECEPTACIIES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIBERT SIMPSON, a subject of the King of England, and a resident of Ottawa, Province of Ontario, Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cases for Vacuum-Receptacles, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to produce a device of the character described having features of novelty and advantage. I
In the drawings-Figure 1 is a side view of a case embodying my inven ion partly 1n central vertical section and with portions broken away to more clearly show construction. Fig. 2 shows a modification thereof.
Referring to the drawings, and particularly to Fig. 1, (t denotes the case,'b the bottle located and properly supported. therein, 0 a thread formed at the upper end of the case, d a sleeve fitting on the outside of the case and having threaded engagement therewith, and e a cap having threaded engagement with the sleeve. As is usual in these structures, the sleeve is apertured at its end and engages the mouth of the receptacle to properly and securely hold it in place in the case. The sleeve fitting on the outside of and inclosing the o prevents the entrance 0 liquids into the case which might otherwise occurwhenever the bottle vwas being filledor used. The cap envelops and conceals the sleeve and the end of the receptacle.
In the modification illustrated in Fig. 2, the thread I) at the upper end of the case is slightly tapered-while the threads 0, and d, on the sleeve and cap respectively are straight. This construction will occasion the binding of the sleeve to the case there will beno tendency to unscrew the .with the neck enveloping said sleeve and engaged with the en end of the case,

sleeve from the case when the cap is being unscrewed from the sleeve. to have both sleeve and cap readily removable, but some means should be provided so that the sleeve will not be disturbed'when the cap is being manipulated. The tapering of the thread on the case is one way of accomplishing this result. I v
I do not desire it tobe understood that the foregoing illustration and. description specify the limitations of the invention.
I claim as my invention:
1. A case for vacuum bottles open at its upper end, a receptacle holder located therein, a vacuum receptacle supported in said holder, a retaining sleeve fitting over and engaged with the open-end upper portion of said sleeve being plain and inclining upwardly and inwardly toengage of said receptacle, and a cap It is the desire lower portion thereof.
A case for vacuum receptacles provided with a tapering thread at its upper end, a sleeve provided with a straight thread adapted to engage the tapering thread on the case, and a cover threaded to engage the thread on the sleeve.
3. In a device of the character described, a case, a, sleeve having threaded engagement with the case, and a cap having threaded engagement with said sleeve, and means for'producing a greater frictional contact in the engagement of thesleeve with the case than in the engagement of the cap with the sleeve.
