To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Aueus'r O. Lrnnn a citizen of the United States, re-
KUGEL, siding at Spencer, in the county of McCook and. State of South Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vaporizers, of which the following. is a specification.
.My invention relates to a vaporizer nozzle or nebulizer particularly adapted for distributing .fluid disinfectants, insecticides and the like.
It is one object ofthe inventlon to pro- ,vide a device of this character which embraces a reservoir for holding both gaseous and liquid fluids under pressure and simultaneously supplying the same in a regulated flow to a nebulizing nozzle.
- Another object residesin the speclfic discharging or atomizing tip of the nozzle.
And a still further object resides in the A 'needle valve arrangement for controlling the admixture of gaseous and liquid elements used in the spraying.
With the above and other objects in view, I will now proceed to describe a specific embodiment of the invention as illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:

In detail: The invention, as illustrated, comprises the reservoir 1 having an outlet in which is'threade'd one end 2 of a nipple,
the otherend 3 of which is threaded into a. T 4. The -T 4, at its upper end, is pro-.
vided with a bushing 5 interiorly threaded into which is one end of a pipe 6 of smaller diameterthan the bore through the nipple so as to provide an air passagp between the pipe and nipple; the pipe 6 eing of suificientlength to reach nearly to the bottom of the reservoir '1 and draw liquid therefrom. One end of a pipe 7 is screwed into the outlet 8 of T 4 and connects with a passage 9 of a control valve casing 10. Also pipe 6 connects by means of an elbow 11 and nozzle 6 with pipe 11 which, in turn, connects with passage 12 in valve casing .10, said passage 12 being parallel with passage 9 and thereforea turning plug 13 may be provided with passages adapted to Specification of Letters Patent.

The nozzle head comprises a body 14 having passages 15 'and'16 which are. intercepted by=the needle valve seats 17 and 18, respectively, entering at an angle and which extend into a nozzle tip 19 having a conical f inlet. .and outlet connected by restricted throat 20. The equally spaced drill holes '21 are provided around the outlet end of the tip 19 and are for. the purpose of reducing the vacuum at the tip to -permit an easier and thinner efliux ofthe fluid in'an atomized condition. These drill holes 21 are preferably substantially at right angles to the walls of the conical outlet of the nozzle tip 19.
The needle valves 22 and 23 for seats 17 and 18, respectively, terminate in the threaded shanks 24 and 25 which extend through stufiing box bushings 26 and 27, re spectively, screwed into the nozzle head and holding the packing tightly against the shanks'of the needle valves so as to prevent leakage. The needle valves may be adjusted v to permit the desired amount of fluid to pass thereby turning the knurled knobs 28.
' The operation of the vaporizer is as follows: Fluid disinfectant is placed in the reservoir 1 through an opening controlled by the member 29 without permitting the air in said reservoir to escape and pressure is thus then created within the said reservoir, the amount of such pressure being indicated by a suitable gage 30, The needle valves 22 and 23 are adjusted and the turning plug 13 rotated to that position wherein 'it cuts off flow. The passages 9 and 12 of the valve 10 are connected with the passages may be, through the pipe 6 and to the needle valve 22 where both fluid and gas will become mixed by the action of the conical Wall of the nozzle tip 19 and passthrough the restricted throat 20 and thence outwardly in an atomized or nebulized condition. It will be seen that, by the arrangement of the valve 10, both passages or pipes- 7 and 11 are. simultaneously controlled, and by the arrangement of this valve 10 and the needle valves 22 and 23 perfect control of the vaporizer may be obtained at all times.
While, in the foregoing, I have described a specific embodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that variations and modifimemes eliminating the vacuum caused by the efllux of the fluids, substantially as described.
In a nebulizer or vaporizer, a nozzle 20 head, a nozzle tip receivlng fluids from said head and having a restricted throat portion to thoroughly mix said fluids, and passages opening into said nozzle beyond said throat portion for eliminating the vacuum caused 25 by the eifiux of the fluids, substantially as described.
