Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim is:
l. A receptacle capable of use with a sign plate provided with an aperture and a lug on the inner side of the plate near the edge of said aperture, said receptacle comprising a circular part which engages the inner side of the sign plate, said circular part having a series of projections and notches arranged alternately thereon at the edge thereof which engages the inner face of the sign plate, said series of projections and notches extending throughout the entire length of the plate-engaging edge of said circular part, any one of said notches being capable of fitting said lug to lock the receptacle in any one of many positions rotarily, where by a choice of many angular positions of the line terminals of said receptacle is atforded.
2. The combination with a sign plate having an ope iing therethrough and a lug at the inner side thereof near the opening, of a receptacle adapted to be locked to plate in any one of many positions rctarily, and means for fastening the receptacle to the sign plate, said receptacle ha '11? acrcnlar row of notches, any one c1. irl lli lll is adapted to take said lug and lock the r. tacle in any one of many positions rotar 7 whereby a choice of'many angularposltione of the line terminals of said receptacle is atforded.
3. A receptacle capable of use w th a sign plate having an aperture therein aing at the edge of said aperture, said receptacle comprising a body of insulating material having an inner cylind ical flange and a second shorter cylindrical flange surrounding and spaced from said innertlange and having an edge capable oi engaging the rear face of the sign plate, means capable of engaging said inncr flange to secure the receptacle in place on the sign plate, said shorter flange having transverse notches throughout its entire plate-engaging edge any one of said notches being capable of fitting the lug on the sign plate to lock the receptacle in any one of many positions rotarily.
l. The combination of a sneet of metal having an aperture therein and lug adjacent the margin of said aperture, said. lug consisting of an inwardly struck portion of the sheet, an electric lamp receptacle adapt-- ed. to be locked to said sheet in any one of many positions rotarily, and means for as-- tening the receptacle to the sheet of metal, said receptacle having a circular row cit notches, any one of which is adapted to lit said lag and lock the receptacle in any one of many positions rotarily,
