IMPROVEMENT IN LAP-BOARDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 118,303, dated August 22, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, GHARLEs TEEEETHEmof Manchester, of the countyof Hillsborough, State of New Hampshire, h ve invented a new and useful or Improved Lap-Board for the use of seamstresses or others, and do hereby declare the same to be fully described in the following' specification and represented in the accompanying drawing, of which- Figure l is a top view, Fig. 2 a bottom View, and Fig. 3 a transverse section of it.
It consists of a board or platform an d two hooks, or such and a pair of legs arranged and connected together substantially as hereinafter described, and as shown in the said drawing.
The board or platform shown at A may be two feet in width and three feet in length, more or less, as may be desirable, and may be notched or recessed at the middle of one edge of it in manner as shown at a.. To the said board A there is pivoted on its un der side two long hooks, B B, which, arranged as shown, are applied to the board so as to be capable of being turned about on their pivots or connections b b, as occasion may require. Besides these hooks there may be or are hinged to the board on its under side, or to the cleats c c fastened to it to keep it from warping, two legs accomplishment of such.
The board may be provided with the hooks without the legs, but it is far preferable to have both hooks and legs connected with it, as set forth.
I claim as my invention the following, Viz.:
l. rIhe combination of the board and the hooks, arranged and connected together, substantially as described.
2. The combination of the board and the hooks and the legs arranged and' connected with such boa-rd, essentially as specified.
