Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which may be conveniently applied and removed after the shoes are buttoned and which is provided with means for the insertion of a button hook to facilitate the removal.
Further objects of the invention will ap pear as the following description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this application, and in which Figure l is a perspective view with parts broken away showing the application of the device. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the device removed.
In the specific embodiment of the invention as illustrated herein, the device comprises a single piece of material such as celluloid or any other suitable material, which Copies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the is sufficiently flexible to conform to the outline of the foot. The device is generally indicated at 1 and has the outline of an irregular arc and gradually tapers from one end to the other, as shown. At the wide end an aperture 2 is formed to permit withdrawal of the device by means of a button hook and this aperture is reinforced preferably by a metallic gromet or other similar device.
In practice, the device is placed beneath the buttons on the shoe upper and the button hook is then hooked into the eyelet and the device removed. By employing a device of this character the buttoning of the shoe is not only facilitated but the device prevents the stocking from being drawn into the button hole and also eliminates pinching.
