Description
,P. E. FISCHER. PQLPAN, AND KETTLE CLEANER. APPLIQATIONFILED MAR. 26, 1915 1,179,297. Patented Apr. 11,1916.
` PYRMA. E. FISCHER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
Specification of Letters Patent.
POT,1AN, AND KETTLE CLEANER. I
Patented Apr. 11, 1916.
Application led March 26, 1915. Serial No. 17,266.
To all whom t may concern Beit knownthat I, PYRMA E. FISCHER, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at New York, in the county of New York and the State of New York, have in-v vented a new andy usefull Improvement in Pot, Pan, and Kettle Cleaners, of which the following is a specification.
This lnventlon relates to an inexpensive, durable, efiiclent and samtary4 cleaner for pots, pans, kettles and other like utensils. 1
The invention consists of the novel -fea ltures of. construction hereinafter described,l
' curved inwardly` as shown at 3. A .handle pointed out in the claim and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side elevati-on. Fig. 2 is a. sectional elevation. Fig. 3 is a horizontalv section, a clamping ring being shown in plan.y Fig. 4 is an enlarged detail -view of a of acup' adapted'to be enveloped therein, lsaid cup having an upwardly projecting and portion of the cleaning fabric.
In constructing the device I employ a cup of any suitable material, preferably metal, and which is provided with an'interlorly extending bead 2 adjacent Qits top, the rim portion 'of the 'cup above said bead 'being 4 has its standard 5 secured to the bottomy of the cup, the handlebemg arranged centrally above the cup. v A suitable cleaning fabric envelops the cup and folds vover the' bead, and securely holding it in place., The ring is fitted into and removed from position by pressing the upturned end portions together thereby reducing the. diameter of the ring. By having the rim portion curved inwardly the cup is slightly reduced in diameter at'the top, and accidental displacement of theclamping ring prevented.
Vhile any suitable fabric may be employed I prefer to use a cloth having heavy intersecting strands to which is stitched or otherwise secured a metal strip, cord or the like which is arranged upon the cloth in a 'spiral coil, `.as indicated in Fig. 4. /The cleaning fabric' can be easily removed for washing, or yfor the purpose of inserting a new-cloth in osition.
What I clalm isz- The combination with a cleaning fabric,
centrally arranged handle, supported from the bottom of the cup, and having an in-4 teriorv bead, and an inwardly curving rim portion, the fabric overlapping said rim portion when in position, and a ,split spring Avclamping ring, having upturnd 'end porrim portion 3 and a part of the bead 2. A
split, spring clamping ring-7 having upturned portions 8`A fits within. the cup and bears on the bead 2, clamping the fabric'4 between the rim portion of the cup and said tions, said ring when in positionv being locked between the bead and the inwardlycurving portion of the rim, and gripping the overlapping portion of the fabric.
' PYRMA EFISCI-IER.
