WATCHCASE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 2S, 1916.
Application led October 16, 1915. .Serial No. 56,322.
To all whom zt may concern: Y
Be it known that I, BOHUMIL JIRAUCH, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Louis city, State of Missouri, have' invented a new and useful Watchcase, of which the following is a specification.
In watch cases which maylbe locked and which are water proof and dust proof.
I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a sectional view or cross osection of the two halves of the watch case; Fig. 2 is a cross section 2-3 of the pendant and entire watch case; Fig. 3 is a crossv section of the crown showing the sleeve shell, pendant halves Fig. 4 is a view of the shell which lits over the pendant; Fig. 5 is a cross section'of the lock nut which fits over the shell and screws onto -the pendant.
The case halves C 'and D, together with the drums I and J contain the watch movements and fit together at the bearing surfaces F, and are claspedv vby screwing the male and female threads G and H.
When the halves C and D are tted tofopiel et this patent hay be obtained for gether the pendant halves K and L form a threaded cylinder pendant around which the bow ring shell M fits and onto which the lock nut N is screwed, which holds the shell down and clasps the two halves of the pendant. Through an opening P in the lock nutv the usual catch stem lits, the crown Q lits onto the lock nut'with bearing surfaces at R S.
I claim:
The combination of two watch case halves, fastened together by male and female threaded drums, which are part of the case halves, the watch case halves having a split threaded pendant,'a bow ring shell litted around the pendant holding the watch case halves in place, an internally threaded lock nut screwed about the pendant and above the lbow ring shell, and a crown and stem fitted around and through a lock nut,'all arranged and operated substantially as described. l
