Application filed November 3, 1913.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SVANTE WILHELM NrLssoN, a subject of the King of Sweden, residing at Stockholm, in the Kingdom of Sweden, have invented new and useful Improvements in 'Means for Producing F loorings of Concrete orthe like, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the drawing accompanying and form.- ing a part thereof.
This invention relates to means for producingfloorings of concrete or the like consisting of beams and a plate cast in one piece therewith.
The object of the invention 1s to reduce the expenses of the necessary casting-mold and consequently the manufacturing cost of the flooring. The casting-mold consists of a framing of plates, or the like, rigidly connected to each other by suitable stays, which during the casting will act as form-p eces for the side-surfaces of the beams, whlle a network inserted between; the plates constitutes a form-piece for the underside of the plate situated between two beams.
The accompanying drawings illustrate a suitable form of such an arrangement.
Figure 1 shows a framing 1n 7611310211 section taken on line AB in Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the mold. F1g. 3 shows in vertical section the complete form for the casting of a concrete flooring, and Fig. 4 shows the ready flooring with the net-work brought down to lower edge of the beams.
The illustrated framing consists of two sideplates 1, connected at both ends by 1ntersecting stays 2. The distance betweyn' the upper edges of the side-plates is somewhat shorter than the distance between their lower edges, thereby elfecting a fair release.
The cross-stays 2 are provided at their upper ends with depressions or recesses 3, wherein are placed bars 4 of rod-iron between which wires 5, bends or the like are stretched in such a Way that a net-work is formed between the upper edges of the sideplates.
The preferable length of each framing is 1 yard, the width corresponding to the distance between the beams, The bars 4 can specification of ater. Patent.

height are girders 8, and on said girders are placed planks 9 intended to serve as formpieces for the lower sides of the beams, and consequently extending longitudinally in the direction of the beams being in preparation. Placed on said planks 9, in the man: ner indicated in Fig. 3, are rows of the aforesaid framings, being preferably secured by nails driven into the planks through holes 10 placed for this purpose in the'lower edges of the .plates 1. Further, at suitable distances apart not exceeding the length of each framing are secured to the planks wooden blocks 11, intended to be cast in the concrete-beams, for the below mentioned purpose. The network 5 of the framings is finally covered with asphaltpaper 12 or the like, bent down over the edges of the plates 1. The mold is now ready, and the beams 13 together with the adjoining plate 14 can be cast in usual manner, and if needed the beams may be reinforced by strengthening irons. When the flooring has hardened, the trestles 7, the
girders 8, the planks 9 and the framings together with the net-work 5 are removed. Supporting irons 15 each provided at their ends with hooks are secured to the blocks 11, cast in the beams. The rods 4 and the net-work 5 stretched between said rods are placed in said hooks, and finally the nails or screws 16 supporting the irons 15 are coinpletely driven home. The net-work 5 which is stretched accordingly between the ower edges of the beams 13 (Fig. 4) forms a framing to which can be secured immediately the dressingor some other bedding for instance reed webs. The removed framings 1 and 2 can of course be used for easting a well-nigh unlimited number of floorings, whereby the costs of the framing will soon be repaid.1 The asphalt-paper 12, however, remains on the net-work when being moved downward, and will act as an isolating member.
What I claim and desire to secure by Let-' ranged to support a net-work serving as ters Patent, is: bedding for the dressing, substantially as 10 The combination With a framing for proand for the purpose set forth, V ducing fiooringsof concrete or the like of SVANTE NVtILINIELMv N e J a mold consisting of side plates rigidly connected to each other by means of stays; said i Witnesses: i stays provided at their ends with recesses N.-PERRY-, and rods placed in saidrecesses and ar-...
