It is within the scope of the .disclosure to improve generally and to enhance the utility of devices of that type to which the present invention appertains.
With the above and other objects in view. which will appear as the description pro-- ceeds, the invention resides in the combina tion and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed can be made within Y the scope of what is claimed. without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In carrying out the present invention there is provided a lateral support 1 which may be the wall of a building, an overhead support 2 being shown, the latter ordinarily constituting the ceiling. Mounted to reciprocate vertically on the track 3-is a frame denoted generally by the numeral 9. The frame 9 is a composite structure and comprises a horizontally disposed upper arm 10, the rear end of which terminates in bifurcations 11 ordinarily constituting a part of an eye 12 surrounding the track 3. Mounted in the bifurcations 11 of The bifurcations 18 which are formed at' the lower end of the brace 16 support a pivot element 22 on which is fulcrumed intermediate its ends a dog 23, the lower end of which is curved toward the track'3 and is adapted to cooperate therewith and, more specifically, cooperate with the shoulders 7 and 8. The upper end of the dog 23 terminates in an arm 24, extended rearwardly to a point beyond the track 3, the upper end of the dog 23 being offset as clearly shown at 27,

Owing to the fact that the shoulders 7 and 8 extend entirely around the track 3, the frame 9'rnay be swung horizontally without causing a disengagement of the lower end of the dog 23 from eitherot the shoulders. The wheels 15 and 21 serve to guide theiframe 9 in its vertical movement along the track 3 and LCilitate such movement. Owing to the fact that thedog 23 is provided at its upper end with a rearwardly extended arm 24 which projects beyond the track 3, the flexible element 25 which controlsthe dog is always eX- posed and is not encumhered by articles of any. sort which maybe suspended from the armlQ.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is 7 V I 1. In a device of the class described, an upright track; a frame mounted to reciprocate on the track; an upright dog pivotally mounted on, the frame and including a rearwardly extended arm disposed transversely of the track; a depending operating element 7 connected to the rear end of the arm; and a retraetile spring forming a connection between the-dog and the frame, the spring constituting means for maintaining the dog engaged with'the track, and the track having a shoulder with which the dog is adapted to coact.

In a device of the class described, an upright track; a frame comprising an upper arm, a lower arm and a brace connecting the arms;a'wheel journaled for rotation on the upper arm and engaging one edge of the track; a wheel journaled for rotation on the lower arm and engaging the opposite edge of the track; and a movable dog carried by the lower arm, the track having a shoulder with which thedog is adapted to cooperate.

Ina device of the class described, an upright track provided with a circumscribing shoulder; a frame mounted to slide longitudinally on the track and to rotatetransversely of the track; a dog pivotally carried by the frame and adapted to coact with the shoulder; and spring means operatively con meeting the dog with the frame and constituting means whereby the dog will be maintained in engagement with the track prior to the engagement with the dog and the shoulder,the dog being adapted to maintain its engagement with the shoulder under the actuation of the spring, when the frame is rotated transversely of the track.
