This invent on relates to. valve gears for gas engines, and is adapted to improve upon the construction shown in my prior Patent, No. 1,088,580, dated February 24%,1914.
The primary object of this invention is to provide a slide valve located in. one'end of the gas engine cylinder, and is so con-v structed as to form a eylinderwhich maybe operated to admit a :ehajrge or toeXha-ust the most effective results.
With these and other objects in view, this invention consists in the peculiar combination and arrangement of the variousspa'rts of a slide valve gear, as will be hereinafter described and. more particularly set forth in the appended claim. Referring to the drawings forming a portion of this application, wherein similar relerence numerals indicate similar parts when ever used the figure is, an axial section through a motor embodying my improved device. v
The numeral A represents the cylinder v .housed at its upper end by a casingA', which forms chamber-A g Belowtheease ing A" the cylinder is provided with n nular exhaust ol'iarnber lg,-
Communicating with exhaust and the cylinder A, ar eloutlet opemngsd.
, The top end a is closed by means of a transverse wall 14; provided with acentrals'tperf ture, through which extends a hollow-monk her 1', which is provided on its lower end with a plurality of radial arms 4v, which support the cylindricalslide valve 2 and on its outer end with a bolt w having-a central aperture with outwardly extending members z and 2 which are connected by ineansof a. stirrup member 3 in order to hold the guides rig d. 4
