The invention relates tojointed pieces of jewelry and the like, particularly to a series of jointed pieces suitable for .makingfbracw lets, and to an improved method of making The-following disclosure of the preferred form or'practice of the invention deals with the formation of a section of a bracelet, since that is the purpose to which the invention is primarily directed, but it will be un derstood thatcthe invention is applicable to the jointing of any piece of jewelry or other article in which the parts are small and delicate and consequently difficult to handle.
It is common practice to make up brace lets by uniting aseries of sections to one another by means of hinges. For this purpose thepractice is to form in the abutting surfaces of two sections, half cylindrical recesses adapted to receive small sections of tubing which really constitute the knuckle members of ahinge. ing are secured to the abutting facs of the sections in such manner that the tube seetions will fit into one another in the form of a hinge and then a pintle is run through the tube sections to unite the parts. Aft-er this operation has been performed in each of the series of recesses of the bar, the bar is divided' into sections by cutting through from the top as indicated at S in Fig.3, the
