VENCENT B. ROBIDOUX, 01F SLATER, COLORADO.
CAMP-STOVE.
ToaZl whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, VExcEx'r B. ROBI- DOUX, a citizen of the Inited States, residing at Slater, in the county of Moifett and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Camp-Stoves, of
c which the followingis a specification.
This invention relates to Improvements in portable camp stoves, and has for its primary object to provide a stove of this character comprising a standard which is adapted to be driven in the ground and a set of adjustable pan holding brackets disposed thereon so that the stove may be regulated to suit the varying conditions of heat from the fire disclosed therebeneath.
Another object is to so construct the holders that the same may be readily folded upon the standard to provide a compact bundle for transportation.
With these and other objects in view the invention consists inthe novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more fully hereinafter described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and claimed.
In the drawings :F ignrel is a side elevation of a camp stove constructed in accordance with the invention; Fig. 2 is a top plan view showing the folded position of the brackets in dotted lines; and Flg. 3 is a detail view of the upper portion of the standard.
Referring to the drawings by numerals, 1 designates a standard which is adapted to be driven in the ground for supporting the pan holders 2.
Each of the pan holderscomprises a slide 3 which is loosely mounted on the standard 1 and has an ear I projecting therefrom. A circularly-shaped band of iron 4' has its ends offset as shown at 5, these offset ends being adapted to receive the ear 4 therebetween and be pivoted thereto by means of a.
rivet 6. One corner of the ofl'sets 5 is curved while the opposite corner is extended in a straight line with respect to the pivot point of said otfset portions, thereby providing for the folding of the pan holder in one direction upon the slides 3, but being limited in a. horizontal plane upon the lowering thereof by means of the straight portion of the ofiset portion 5 engaging with the slide 3. Cross pieces 7 are secured to the pan 4 in order to support a cooking utensil within the pan holder.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 22, 1916.
- Application filed January 22, 1915. Serial No. 3,811.
It will be obvious that upon positioning the slides 3 in any predetermined position upon the standard 1, the weight 0 the pan holder, when lowered to its extended position, will cause the slides 3 to bind against the standard 1 to hold the same in any adjusted position thereon. V A bar 8 is passed through the upper portion of the standard 1, and that its outer end is provided with hooks 9," the purpose of which are to support kettles or other cooking utensils thereupon when the pan holders are in use.
Upon reference to the drawings it will be seen that the holders may be readily folded upon the standard 1, thus providing a compact bundle for transportation, also that the same may be readily slipped on or off the standard, and that the same may be adjusted without screws or other fastening devices as has been done heretofore.
' slides arranged thereon, each of said slides being formed of a continuous strip, said strip extending around said standard and forming an outstanding ear, said strip being enlarged intermediate the ends thereof, pan
receiving means, said pan holding means comprising a circular strip bent to form relatively parallel ears, a portion of said second mentioned ears being rounded, to allow said pan receiving means to be folded to assume a position relatively parallel to said standard, substantially as described.
2. In a camp stove, the combination with a standard, provided with stationary arms adjacent its upper end, of a plurality of independent slide structures arranged thereon, each of said slide structures being formed of a single strip of material, said strip extending about the standard, its end portions forming an outstanding ear, said strip being enlarged intermediate its ends relative to its horizontal axis, pan receiving means, said pan receiving means comprising a circular strip bent to form relatively a horizontal position, and transverse sup- 1 porting members secured to said pan receiving means for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
