Be it known that 1, JOHN G. MCNABB, a

This invention relates to receptacles for nail matter, more particularly to receptacles employed in connection with the rural free delivery system, and it has for one of its objects to improve the construction and increase the etliciency and utility of a device oi this character.

Another ob ect of the invention is to rovide a simply constructed devicein which mail may be readily inserted, but from which it can be taken only through the discharge opening which is protectedby a locked door, thus preventing any surrepti ticus removal of the mail.

Another object of the invention is to provide a simply constructed device which is automatically retained in receiving position, and in which the receiving member is automatically returned to receiving position after the deposit or" each piece of mail.

With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction hereafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in he claims; and in the drawings illustrative;
